The University of Chittagong is a public research university located in Hathazari,Chattogram,Bangladesh. It was established on 18 November 1966. It is one of the oldest universities in Bangladesh. Its 2,312.32 acres (935.76 ha) campus is the largest among universities in Bangladesh. It is one of the four autonomous by the act universities of Bangladesh.
The Bangla Academy is the official regulatory body of the Bengali language in Bangladesh. It is an autonomous institution funded by the Government of Bangladesh that fosters the Bengali language,literature and culture,works to develop and implement national language policy and conducts original research in Bengali. Established in 1955,it is located in the Burdwan House in Shahbagh,Dhaka,within the grounds of the University of Dhaka and Suhrawardy Udyan. The Bangla Academy hosts the annual Ekushey Book Fair.
Muhammad Habibur Rahman was a Chief Justice of Bangladesh Supreme Court in 1995. He was the Chief Adviser of the 1996 caretaker government which oversaw the Seventh parliamentary elections in Bangladesh. He was a faculty member at the Department of Law,University of Rajshahi and University of Dhaka. Besides,being a language activist,advocate of the Bengali language,he wrote extensively and published eight books on the subject. He played a significant role to implement Bengali in the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He wrote Jathashabdo (1974),the first thesaurus in the Bengali language.
Rudra Mohammad Shahidullah was a Bangladeshi poet noted for his revolutionary and romantic poetry. He is considered one of the leading Bengali poets of the 1970s. He received Munir Chaudhury Memorial Award in 1980 and Ekushey Padak in 2024
Abdul Gaffar Choudhury was a Bangladeshi-born British writer,journalist,columnist,political analyst and poet. He wrote the lyrics to "Amar Bhaier Rokte Rangano",a widely celebrated song commemorating the Bengali Language Movement. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1967,Ekushey Padak in 1983,and Independence Day Award in 2009.

Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal was a Bangladeshi songwriter,poet,essayist,critic and presenter. In his early life,he was a singer on East Bengal radio and television. He was a professor of Bengali literature at the University of Rajshahiin 1966 and became professor at University of Chittagong in 1973,also worked for the government as the Director General of the Bangla Academy from 1986 until his death. He was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh in 1987. He published only three collections of poetry before he died of a heart attack in 1989.

Sikdar Aminul Haq was a Bangladeshi poet. In recognition of his contribution in language and literature,the government of Bangladesh posthumously awarded him the country's second highest civilian award Ekushey Padak in 2020.

He was notable for editing book series on folk culture of 64 different districts in 64 volumes and collections of folklore series in 114 volumes. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2001,Ekushey Padak in 2009 and Independence Day Award in 2017 by the government of Bangladesh.
Mazharul Islam was a Bangladeshi poet,folklorist,and academic. He served as the vice-chancellor of the University of Rajshahi. In 1972,he was appointed as the first Director General of Bangla Academy.
Muhammad Ibrahim is a Bangladeshi academic. He is a former professor of physics at University of Dhaka. He is the moderator of the show Desh o Biggyan on Bangladesh Television. He is the editor of Bigyan Shamoiki,the first monthly science magazine of Bangladesh. Since January 2015,he has been serving as a professor of the General Education Department at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB).
Biswajit Ghosh is a Bangladeshi professor,essayist and researcher. He is a professor of the Bangla Department at Dhaka University and Incumbent vice-chancellor of the Rabindra University. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2011 and Ekushey Padak in 2019 for his contributions in research.
