Jiang Wen is a Chinese actor, screenwriter, and director. As a director, he is sometimes grouped with the "Sixth Generation" that emerged in the 1990s. Jiang is also well known internationally as an actor, having starred with Gong Li in Zhang Yimou's debut film Red Sorghum (1986), and more recently as Baze Malbus in the Star Wars film Rogue One (2016). He is the older brother of fellow actor Jiang Wu.
The Shaolin Temple (少林寺) is a 1982 Chinese–Hong Kong martial arts film directed by Chang Hsin Yen and starring Jet Li in his debut role along with Ding Lan and Yu Hai in supporting roles. The film is based on the Shaolin Monastery in China and depicts Shaolin Kung Fu. The film was among the first major co-productions between Hong Kong and mainland China, and the first to be filmed in mainland China with a mostly mainland cast. The film's plot has an episodic storytelling structure while combining action, comedy and romance elements.
Old Well is a 1987 Chinese film written by Zheng Yi about a village worker's effort of digging a well in his water-starved hometown located in northwest China and his affairs with his old girlfriend. It is produced by Xi'an Film Studio and directed by Wu Tianming, starring Zhang Yimou and Liang Yujin.
China Movie Channel is the trade name of the "Satellite TV Show Production Facility", an agency of the Chinese Government's State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television. In mainland China, the agency provides programming to the China Central Television channel CCTV-6, which is dedicated to movies. It airs CCTV New Year's Gala since 18 February 1996.
August First Film Studio, or Bayi Film Studio, is the only military film studio in China. Founded on August 1, 1952, it is a comprehensive film studio with the production capacity of feature films, battlefield documentaries, military education films, news documentaries, national defense scientific research films, TV dramas and other films. The unit's main business area is located in Fengtai District, Beijing, and consists of Wang Zuo Film and Television Base and Hubei Film and Television Base.

Big Red Envelope is a 2021 romantic comedy film written and directed by Li Kelong and starring Bao Bei'er, Clara Lee, Jia Bing, Zhang Yiming, Xu Juncong, Wang Xiaoli, Liao Weiwei, and Yue Yueli. It is a remake of director Li Kelong's own 2014 film Cash Gift. It was released in China on 22 January 2021.
Ningling Ge was a crown prince of the Western Xia dynasty and the fourth son of the Emperor Jingzong, the founding monarch. Ningling Ge was a member of Tangut Weiming (嵬名) clan.
Empress Xiancheng, of the Yeli (野利) clan, was a Western Xia empress as the first empress of Emperor Jingzong.
Golden Rooster Award for Best Foreign Language Film is the main category of Competition of Golden Rooster Awards, awarding to foreign language films. When the first Golden Rooster Awards ceremony was held in 1981, there was no separate category for foreign language films because its awards were only given to domestic. It was created in 2021 for foreign language speaking films.

Xia Chuan, formerly known as Lu Zhenhua and Lu Xiangchen, was a native of Pingshan, Hebei Province. He was the vice chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
