Idol A is a Japanese manga written by Mitsuru Adachi about a high school girl who has a successful career as an idol and who wishes to play on the high school baseball team, but cannot due to the rules. Her father is the team's coach, and her best friend happens to look very much like her, so she is able to do a swap with him during games and meet her dream. The first 3 chapters were published irregularly in Weekly Young Sunday between 2005 and 2007 and collected in Short Program 3 tankōbon. Later, chapter 4 was released in volume 36-37 of the 2007 series of Weekly Young Sunday and chapters 5 and 6 were released in the November 2010 and August 2011 editions of Monthly Shōnen Sunday. Chapters 1-6 were released in a tankoubon dedicated to the series, published in 2011. The Idol A tankoubon includes chapters 1 to 6 and an extra manga chapter commemorating 40 years of Mitsuru Adachi manga career, done by himself and fellow manga creator Rumiko Takahashi.
Atlus's 2006 role-playing video game Persona 3 focuses on the exploits of the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (SEES), a group of high-schoolers defending their home city from monsters known as Shadows. Persona 3 is set in a fictional Japanese city in the year 2009. Due to past events, there is a hidden period between one day and the next, known as the "Dark Hour", during which most people become unconscious, and Shadows feed on the minds of those still aware of their surroundings. In addition, a large tower called Tartarus, filled with Shadows, rises out of the ground during the Dark Hour. SEES is composed of students attending Gekkoukan High School. The player names and controls the game's protagonist, who leads SEES in its exploration of Tartarus. Persona 3 mixes elements of role-playing and simulation games: during the day, the player attends school, and is able to spend time with other characters, forming relationships known as Social Links. These Social Links, when formed, have gameplay benefits, increasing the player's proficiency in battle.
Uwasa no Midori-kun!! is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gō Ikeyamada. It premiered in Shōjo Comic from December 2006 to October 2008. The individual chapters were collected and published in 10 tankōbon volumes by Shogakukan. Two of its chapters are used in Gō Ikeyamada's Shōnen x Cinderella. A 10-episode anime television series by Production I.G aired between April and May 2011. A live-action movie was released in Japan on June 4, 2011.

A 24-episode anime television series adaptation by OLM was broadcast from April to September 2019. A second season was broadcast from April 2023 to September 2023.
