FC Bunyodkor is a football club based in Tashkent that competes in Uzbek Professional Football League, the top football league in Uzbekistan, since season 2007. The club was founded in 2005 and played at the beginning in regional Tashkent liga, after that club qualified 2006 to Uzbekistan First League. Bunyodkor set some various records in winning various official competitions since its foundation and appearance in Top Uzbek League.

Football is the most popular sport in Uzbekistan, a country that gained independence in 1991. The national association takes part in all competitions organised by FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation.

The 2012 season was Bunyodkors 6th season in the Uzbek League in Uzbekistan, and they also competed in the Uzbekistan Cup and the AFC Champions League. Bunyodkor reached the Semi-Finals of the AFC Champions League before being beaten 5–1 on aggregate by Ulsan Hyundai of South Korea.

The 2013 season was Bunyodkors 7th season in the Uzbek League in Uzbekistan. Bunyodkor completed first treble in the season. They completed a Domestic double winning both the League and Cup. Also Bunyodkor youth team won 2013 Uzbek Youth League. Bunyodkor also competed in the AFC Champions League, reaching the Round of 16 stage before being knocked out by Buriram United of Thailand.

Vokhid Shodiev is an Uzbek footballer who plays as a forward for FC Qizilqum Zarafshon.

The 2014 season was Bunyodkors 8th season in the Uzbek League in Uzbekistan, of which they were the defending Champions having won the 2013 title. Bunyodkor failed to defend their title, finish the season in 4th position. Bunyodkor won the Uzbekistan Super Cup, reached the Round of 16 in the AFC Champions League, where they were defeated by Al-Hilal, and the final of the Uzbekistan Cup.
