He spent 2 seasons on NFL Europe with the Frankfurt Galaxy (. After being released by the NY Jets I 2005 Eakin then signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL and spent 2 seasons there before being signed by the Buffalo Bills and spending half the season on their practice squad. In 2008 Eakin joined the Tennessee Valley Vipers of the Arena Football League and led them to the Championship Game.
