List of German airplay number-one songs of 2014

The official German airplay chart ranks the most frequently broadcast songs on German radio stations. In 2014, 21 different songs reached the top, based on weekly airplay data compiled by MusicTrace on behalf of Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI). [1] The radio stations are chosen based on the reach of each station. A specific number of evaluated stations is not given. [2]

It took part in Melodifestivalen 2016, and qualified to the final from the fourth heat. It later won the final with 156 points, thus earning the right to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, where it placed fifth. In the weeks after its Melodifestivalen heat appearance, the song charted in the Spotify Viral charts in Switzerland, Taiwan, Iceland, Uruguay, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Spain, the United States, Norway, France, Denmark, Turkey and Germany.
