Wellington originally trained under Rogerio Camoes and later at the Gracie Humaitá jiu-jitsu school in Rio de Janeiro. Wellington received his black belt at the age of 18. Wellington is currently a coral belt under Royler Gracie.

The ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship is an international submission grappling competition, organised by the Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC). The inaugural tournament was held in Abu Dhabi, UAE in 1998. It has been held every two years since 2001, except in 2021 due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. Maxine Thylin is a Swedish grappler and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt competitor. Thylin is a multiple Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion in coloured belt and the 2017 black belt World Champion.
Alessandra "Leka" Vieira is a submission grappler and a 6th degree Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner and coach. Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of women's Brazilian jiu-jitsu, she became in 1999 the first-ever female black belt World champion.
Aurélie Le Vern a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt practitioner from France. A three-time World and IBJJF European Open Champion in colored belts, Le Vern is a 2023 IBJJF World Championship and IBJJF Pan Championship medallist.
