<i>SuperStar</i> (Arabic TV series)

SuperStar was an Arabic television show based on the popular British show Pop Idol created by Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment & developed by Fremantle Media. The show unites the Arab community by democratically choosing the next singing sensation. The show is broadcast worldwide on Future TV, a Lebanese television station. It is also the first Idol franchise to feature contestants from multiple countries.

Nabīl or Nabeel, rendered in some languages as Nebil, is a male given name of Arabic origin, meaning "noble". The feminine version is Nabila, Nabeela, Nabilah, Nabeela or Nabeelah.

The first season of Arab Idol was launched on MBC 1 on 9 December 2011. MBC decided to launch a more stylish version of Pop Idol after the 5 seasons of Super Star, the previous Arabic license of the show. The season was presented by Lebanese model Annabella Hilal and Kuwaiti actor Abdallah Tulehi. The judging panel consisted of Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama, Emirati diva Ahlam and Egyptian music producer, record producer and musician Hassan El Shafei. On finale night, 24 March 2012, Carmen Suleiman from Egypt was crowned the winner of the first season of Arab Idol in a tough competition against Dounia Batma from Morocco. The high ranking of this first season encouraged MBC to launch a second season in 2013.

<i>When Monaliza Smiled</i> 2012 Jordanian film

When Monaliza Smiled is a 2012 Jordanian romantic comedy film directed by Fadi Haddad, produced by Nadia Eliwat and Nadine Toukan and starring Tahani Salim and Shady Khalaf with Haifa Al Agha, Nadera Omran, Fouad Al Shomali, Haidar Kfouf, and Suha Najjar. Its plot is set in Amman, Jordan and the film is now available online and on digital platforms. The film talks about how a Jordanian young lady named Monaliza, who sees no reason to smile, gets a job as an office girl and falls in love with cheerful Hamdi who is an Egyptian immigrant and is the “tea guy” of the office. Hamdi, who is the only person able to make Monaliza smile, shows Monaliza the world in an amazingly new and different perspective.

Nabil Sawalha is a Jordanian comedian, born near the city of Madaba in 1941. His family, especially his mother, encouraged him and his brother Nadim Sawalha, a British actor, to pursue a career in acting, which was not a normal career path in Jordan at the time. Sawalha began his theatre career by acting in BBC radio plays in 1950s while studying engineering in the UK. In 1962, he returned to Jordan and joined the Jordanian National Theatre Group. In 1968, Sawalha formed his own production company, Urdon Co., and began producing series for local and regional Arab networks, such as “Tamara”.

Abeer Mahmoud Mubarak Al-Nahar is a Jordanian international footballer who plays as a forward.

Saba Ahmed Soliman Mubarak El Siouf is a Jordanian actress and producer. She graduated from Yarmouk University in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in Theater acting and Directing. In 1998, she started her acting career with her role in the Jordanian TV series directed by Mohamed Azizia Qamar wa Sahar. Since then, Mubarak has been part of many important TV dramas and films such as Balqis, Moga Harra, Al Ahd, the three seasons of Hekayat Banat from 2012 to 2017, the Price, Agent Hamilton: But Not If It Concerns Your Daughter and the Guest: Aleppo to Istanbul. She also had her first cinematic role in the Jordanian film Safar Al-Ajneha directed by Tha’er Mousa in 2003. Then she starred in several Jordanian films until her Egyptian cinema breakthrough, which came after her participation in Mohamed Amin's film Bentein Men Misr. She is also the daughter of the Palestinian plastic artist Hanan Al-Agha.

Mais Abdel-Jabbar Hamdan Selim, better known as Mais Hamdan, is a Jordanian actress, singer and TV presenter. Her sisters are Mai Selim and Dana Hamdan.

Saraya Abdeen is an Egyptian historical TV drama series, The first season was aired on MBC on 29 June 2014, written by Kuwaiti author Heba Meshari Hamada, directed by Amr Arafa, produced by Mahmood Shokri, and starring Qusai Khouli, Yousra, Nour, May Kassab, Ghada Adel and Nelly Karim. The series focuses on life of Isma'il Pasha who was the Khedive of Egypt and Sudan from 1863 to 1879, with his wives and concubines and their Intrigues on each other with their servants and slaves. A second season was released in April 2014 which was directed by Shadi Abu Al-Oyoun Al-Soud.

Hanan Al-Agha was a Palestinian-Jordanian writer, poet and plastic artist. She worked and exhibited in many Arab countries, and many of her works are still displayed in online forums. She also worked at the Jordan Ministry of Education until her retirement. Her daughter is the Jordanian actress and producer Saba Mubarak.

AlRawabi School for Girls is a Jordanian teen drama television series, created for Netflix by Tima Shomali. The series mainly focuses on the impact of bullying within school systems and societal expectations of young women. The series premiered worldwide on Netflix on 21 August 2021. It is the second Jordanian Netflix original series after Jinn.

Noor Taher is a Jordanian actress and model. She is best known for her role as Layan Murad Fathi on the Netflix miniseries AIRawabi School for Girls.

<i>Amira</i> (film) 2021 Egyptian film

Amira is a 2021 drama film co-written and directed by Mohamed Diab. The film is produced by Mohamed Hefzy for Film Clinic, Mona Abdelwahab for Agora Audiovisuals, Moez Masoud for Acamedia Pictures in co-production with Youssef El Taher for Taher Media Production and Rula Nasser for The Imaginarium Films. The film stars Tara Abboud in the title role and Saba Mubarak and Ali Suliman in supporting roles. The film revolves around Amira, a 17-year-old Palestinian, who is told that she was conceived with the smuggled sperm of her imprisoned father, Nawar.

Tara Abboud, is a Palestinian–Jordanian actress. Her films include Amira (2021). On television, she is known for her roles in the Star series Culprits (2023) and the Netflix teen drama AlRawabi School for Girls (2024).
