Sportin Lithuania is governed by the Physical Education and Sports Department following the country's independence from the Soviet Union in 1990. The Lithuanian government established the department to manage physical education in the schools and sports administration in the country. Over the next few years, Lithuanian sports organizations established membership in international governing bodies. Lithuania participated in the Winter Olympics in Albertville and has participated in every Winter and Summer Olympics since.
The Lithuanian Figure Skating Championships are an annual national competition held to crown the national champions of Lithuania. Skaters compete in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing, across different levels. Some categories are not held in every year due to a lack of entries. The Championships are organized by the Lithuanian Skating Federation, except in the 2016–17 season, when a combined Lithuanian-Latvian event was organized. Rebeka Kim is a South Korean former competitive ice dancer. With partner Kirill Minov, she is the 2016 South Korean national champion and placed sixth at the 2014 World Junior Championships. Earlier in her career, Kim competed in single skating. She is the 2009 and 2010 Toruń Cup novice champion.
The 2014 IIHF World Championship Division I was a pair of international ice hockey tournaments organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Group A contested in Goyang, South Korea, and Group B contested in Vilnius, Lithuania, both running from 20 to 26 April 2014. Divisions I A and I B represent the second and the third tier of the Ice Hockey World Championships.

The Baltic Hockey League is a professional ice hockey competition based in the Baltic states featuring club teams from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The competition was founded in 2018, and the first edition of the competition began in November, 2020.

Figure skating at the 2022 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival will be held from 20–25 March 2022 at the Vuokatti Arena in Vuokatti, Finland. Medals will be awarded in boys' and girls' singles. To be eligible, skaters must have been born between 1 July 2004 and 30 June 2006.
