Madhya Pradesh is a state in central India. Its capital is Bhopal, and the largest city is Indore, with Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain, Dewas, Sagar, Satna, and Rewa being the other major cities. Madhya Pradesh is the second largest Indian state by area and the fifth largest state by population with over 72 million residents. It borders the states of Uttar Pradesh to the northeast, Chhattisgarh to the east, Maharashtra to the south, Gujarat to the west, and Rajasthan to the northwest.
The Central Zone cricket team is a first-class cricket team that represents central India in the Duleep Trophy and Deodhar Trophy. It is a composite team of players from seven first-class Indian teams from central India competing in the Ranji Trophy: Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Railways, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Vidarbha. Central Zone has the fourth strongest track record of all the zones in the Duleep Trophy, as they have won the Trophy 5 times, with the best team, North Zone having won 17 times.

Holkar Cricket Stadium is located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. It is owned and operated by Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association and serves as its headquarter. It is the home ground of Madhya Pradesh cricket team, MP women's team.
Devendrasingh Bundela is a former Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman for Madhya Pradesh and made his first-class debut in 1995/96. He was a highly successful professional for Whitehaven Cricket Club 2001–03. He became captain of Madhya Pradesh in 2010 Ranji Trophy and was promoted to Ranji Trophy Super League next season. In November 2016, he made the record of highest Ranji Trophy appearances. He announced his retirement on 31 March 2018.
Narendra Deepchand Hirwani is a leg spin bowler who played for India. He is mainly remembered for his success on his Test debut.
Jalaj Sahai Saxena is an Indian cricketer. An all-rounder who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm off spin, he is one of the most consistent performers in the Indian domestic circuit for over a decade. He made his domestic cricket debut for Madhya Pradesh in 2005 and later switched bases to Kerala in 2016.
Ishwar Chand Pandey is an Indian cricketer who played for Madhya Pradesh. He was a right-arm medium-fast bowler who was the leading wicket-taker of the 2012–13 Ranji Trophy. He played for India A and was selected in the Indian Test and ODI squads for the New Zealand tour of 2014. He was bought by the Chennai Super Kings in 2014 IPL auction for Rs 1.5 crores.Then he was bought by Rising Pune Supergiants in 2016 and 2017 edition of IPL. On 12 September 2022, he announced his retirement from international and first class cricket.
Harpreet Singh Bhatia is an Indian cricketer who plays for the Chhattisgarh cricket team and Central Zone in Indian domestic cricket. He is a left-hand batsman and right-arm medium pace bowler. He was a member of the Pune Warriors India squad in the 2011 Indian Premier League. He represented India at the 2010 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

The 2018–19 Ranji Trophy was the 85th season of the Ranji Trophy, the first-class cricket tournament that took place in India. It was contested by 37 teams, divided into four groups, with nine teams in Group B. The group stage ran from 1 November 2018 to 10 January 2019. The top five teams across Group A and Group B progressed to the quarter-finals of the competition.
Devashish Krishnakant Nilosey is an Indian cricketer and coach. He played in 46 first-class and 16 List A matches for Madhya Pradesh from 1984/85 to 1995/96. He was an all-rounder. As a batsman, he scored over 200 runs, including three centuries. His top score was 128, against Railways in December 1994. He was a right-arm seam bowler, whose best bowling performance was ten wickets against Vidarbha in November 1991. He holds the record for the worst economy rate in a Ranji Trophy season, with 4.54 in 1992/93.
The 2021–22 Ranji Trophy was the 87th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. The tournament was split into two phases, with the league stage being played from 17 February to 15 March 2022, and the knockout phase played from 6 to 26 June 2022. Due to the delayed start of the tournament because of the COVID-19 pandemic, teams were split into eight Elite groups, instead of five as per previous editions, and the Plate Group. The seven teams that won their Elite Group with the best points progressed to the knockout phase. They were joined by the winner of the pre-quarter-final match between the Elite Group winning team with the fewest points and the winner of the Plate Group.
The 2015–16 Senior Women's One Day League was the 10th edition of the women's List A cricket competition in India. It took place from 15 November to 5 December 2015, with 26 teams divided into an Elite Group and a Plate Group. Railways won the tournament, their fourth in a row and ninth overall, by topping the Elite Group Super League.
