Using some materials found in the barn, Shaun disguises himself and a fellow sheep to look like the farmer and force the nephew to get back to work. The flock eats the Farmer's birthday cake, and Shaun must secretly bake a new one. Despite warnings, the sheep have gobbled up the birthday cake Bitzer has baked for the Farmer. Realising the kitchen cupboards are bare, Shaun and the flock must try and source ingredients for a new one from around the farm before Bitzer realises. The result is certainly a surprise! Bitzer prepares a cake for the Farmer's birthday and warns Shaun not to eat it, despite him having no intention of doing so. However, Timmy is about to take a bite from it, until Shaun stops him just in time, but is too late as the flock have already finished it. Shaun concocts a plan to make another one, and gives each of the flock a task of ingredients to collect. While he gets eggs, he has Nuts get milk, Hazel get sugar, Timmy and his mother get flour, and the Twins distract Bitzer from finding out. While Shaun finds a nest of eggs, the hens are very cautious about them and kicks him out. Hazel tests out various objects for sugar and finds that the beehive is sweet enough. While Timmy and his mother have found flour, Nuts tries to milk Mower Mouth which doesn't end up very well. Fortunately, Shirley offers to fill him up a jar. After a failed attempt, a duck offers Shaun a fresh batch of eggs, but must do something for him first. With all the ingredients collected, the flock begin baking a new cake.
