Yuvan Shankar Raja, rechristened post religious conversion as Abdul Haliq is an Indian composer and playback singer, who continues to use his birth name professionally. He mainly scores music for Tamil films along with few Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi films. Considered a versatile composer, he is particularly known for his use of Western music elements and often credited with having introduced hip hop to the Tamil film and music industry and started the "era of remixes" in Tamil Nadu which included mixed EDM and jazz. He is frequently referred to as the "BGM King" of Tamil Film Music. Yuvan has won two Filmfare Awards South, five Mirchi Music Awards South, three Vijay Awards and two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
Ramanathan Sarathkumar is an Indian actor, politician and former bodybuilder who works predominantly in Tamil cinema in addition to Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films. He has acted in more than 145 films and won two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and three Filmfare Awards South.
Srikanth is an Indian actor known for his works predominantly in Tamil and Telugu films. He is credited as Sriram in Telugu films. He debuted in K. Balachander's tele serial Jannal – Marabu Kavithaigal (1999). His film debut was in the romantic film Roja Kootam (2002) and went on to star in more such films including April Maadhathil (2002), Parthiban Kanavu (2003) and Okariki Okaru (2003). He subsequently went on to portray action roles in Drohi (2010). In 2012, he starred in Nanban, the Tamil remake of 3 Idiots, directed by S. Shankar.

Mohan Raja is an Indian film director and screenwriter who primarily works in Tamil and Telugu film industries. After making his debut in the Telugu film Hanuman Junction (2001), he went on to remake several successful Telugu films into Tamil, beginning with Jayam (2003) which also launched his brother Ravi as a leading actor. Raja then collaborated with Ravi for three consecutive commercially successful films, M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi (2004), Something Something... Unakkum Enakkum (2006) and Santosh Subramaniam (2008), all of which were remakes of successful Telugu films. After a period of mixed success, he returned with his first original script, Thani Oruvan (2015) which went on to become one of the most profitable Tamil films of 2015.

Udhayanidhi Stalin is an Indian politician, film producer and former actor who has been the 3rd and current Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu since 2024, serving under his father M. K. Stalin. He is the youngest person in Tamil Nadu to have ever held the position. He has also been the Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports Development in Tamil Nadu since December 2022.
Velayudham is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language superhero thriller film directed by Mohan Raja and produced by V. Ravichandran under Aascar Film. It stars Vijay in the titular role with Hansika Motwani and Genelia D'Souza, while Santhanam, Saranya Mohan, Soori, Abhimanyu Singh, and Vineet Kumar play other prominent roles. The music was composed by Vijay Antony with cinematography by Priyan and editing by B. Lenin and V. T. Vijayan. The film was inspired from the 2000 Telugu film Azad and also marks Genelia's last Tamil film till date. Velayudham was released on 26 October 2011 to positive reviews and became a commercial success at the box office.
Mankatha is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Dayanidhi Azhagiri's Cloud Nine Movies. The film stars an ensemble cast of Ajith Kumar, Lakshmi Rai, Anjali, Arjun Sarja, Trisha Krishnan, Andrea Jeremiah, Ashwin Kakumanu, Vaibhav Reddy, Premji Amaren, Mahat Raghavendra, Jayaprakash, Aravind Akash and Subbu Panchu. It is the fiftieth film of Ajith as a lead actor and the third and penultimate film of the production studio. The film follows Vinayak, a corrupt ACP in Mumbai, who joins a gang of four who plans on a heist of cricket betting money.
Gurushetram – 24 Hours of Anger is a 2010 Singaporean Tamil crime thriller film directed by T. T. Dhavamanni. Written by Dhavamani and Chong Tze Chien, the film stars Vishnu, Sivakumar, Mathialagan, Rajesh Kannan, and Gunalan in the lead roles. The film, produced by Blue River Pictures in collaboration with the Singapore Film Commission, is considered the first full-length Tamil film produced entirely in Singapore.
Nanban (transl. Friend) is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language coming-of-age comedy drama film directed by S. Shankar and produced by Gemini Film Circuit. The film stars Vijay, Srikanth, Jiiva, Sathyaraj, Ileana D'Cruz, Sathyan and Anuya, with S. J. Suryah and Vijay Vasanth in cameo appearances. It is a remake of the Rajkumar Hirani's 2009 Hindi-language film 3 Idiots, which itself is based on Chetan Bhagat's novel Five Point Someone. The film follows Venkat, Senthil and Srivatsan, who are on the search for their long lost friend, Panchavan Parivendhan.
Engaeyum Eppothum is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy drama road film written and directed by M. Saravanan in his Tamil debut, he had earlier directed the Telugu film Ganesh (2009). Starring Jai, Sharwanand, Anjali and Ananya, it was produced by A. R. Murugadoss in association with Fox Star Studios, marking the studio's entry into Tamil cinema.
