Alison Schwagmeyer is an American professional basketball player for the Perth Lynx of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). Schwagmeyer scored more than 1,950 points in her career at Camp Point's Central High School and was a two-time all-state selection. After two years at Charleston Southern, she transferred to Quincy University where she was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference's Player of the Year in 2011. She has since played professionally in Germany, Spain and Australia, winning three consecutive WSBL Most Valuable Player honors between 2016 and 2018 playing for the Lakeside Lightning.

The State Basketball League All-Star Five is an annual State Basketball League (SBL) honour bestowed on the best players in both the Men's SBL and Women's SBL following every season. Various SBL All-Stars and All-Star teams have been announced over the years, with a number of All-Star games occurring between 1990 and 1993, and various All-Star teams being named yearly between 1996 and 2004. In 1995, an All-Star Five and an All-Star Ten was named for both the Men's SBL and Women's SBL. In 2005 and 2006, MSBL and WSBL All-Star Five teams were named. The SBL then introduced a first, second, and third team All-Star format for the 2007 and 2008 seasons. The SBL returned to a five-player All-Star team in 2009 for both the Men's SBL and Women's SBL. The term "All-Star Five" has been used by the SBL in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
The 2019 MSBL season was the 31st season of the Men's State Basketball League (SBL). The regular season began on Friday 15 March, with round 1 seeing a 2018 grand final rematch between the Perry Lakes Hawks and Joondalup Wolves. The 2019 MSBL All-Star Game was played on 3 June at Bendat Basketball Centre – the home of basketball in Western Australia. The regular season ended on Sunday 28 July. The finals began on Saturday 3 August and ended on Saturday 31 August, when the Geraldton Buccaneers defeated the Wolves in the MSBL Grand Final.
