John Constantine Unitas was an American football quarterback who played 18 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), primarily with the Baltimore Colts. Following a career that spanned from 1956 to 1973, he has been listed as one of the greatest NFL players of all time.
Towson is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. The population was 55,197 as of the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Baltimore County and the second-most populous unincorporated county seat in the United States.
Sean Edward Landeta is an American former professional football player who was a punter in both the United States Football League (USFL) and the National Football League (NFL). Landeta played 22 seasons in the NFL for five different teams between 1985 and 2006. He was named to the NFL 1980s All-Decade Team as the first punter and the 1990s All-Decade Team as the second punter, as chosen by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee members. He is one of 29 individuals to be selected to multiple All-Decade teams in NFL history. He is one of six punters to be selected as an All-Pro three times in NFL history.
Chad Oliver Scott is a former American football cornerback. Scott was a first round pick, 24th overall, by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1997 NFL Draft. He played professionally for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots. He played college football at Maryland.
David Lee Meggett is an American former football running back and return specialist who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 10 seasons. He played college football for the Towson Tigers, where he won the Walter Payton Award as a senior in 1988, and was selected by the New York Giants in the fifth round of the 1989 NFL Draft. Primarily utilized on special teams, he received one Pro Bowl and two first-team All-Pro selections during his six seasons with the Giants, in addition to winning a Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XXV. Meggett spent his next three seasons as a member of the New England Patriots, where he was named to a second Pro Bowl, and played for the New York Jets in his final season.
Robert Allen Williams was an American football quarterback in the National Football League (NFL).
Jermon Terrell Bushrod is an American former professional football player who was a guard in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Towson Tigers and was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Bushrod played 12 seasons in the NFL, including seven for the Saints, and was their starting left tackle in their Super Bowl XLIV championship. He also played for the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins.
Canute J. Curtis is a former American college and professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for six seasons during the 1990s and early 2000s. He played college football for West Virginia University, where he was a consensus All-American. He was drafted in the 1997 NFL Draft, and played professionally for the Cincinnati Bengals. Curtis is a former defensive line coach at Towson University.
Cecil Lee Rouson is a former professional American football running back. He played a total of seven seasons for the National Football League (NFL) New York Giants and Cleveland Browns. He was selected as the NFL Special Teams Player of the Year in 1986.
Justin Harper is an American college football coach and former professional Canadian football wide receiver. He is currently the tight ends coach at Old Dominion University. Before this, he served as the interim head coach at Virginia State University and was the wide receivers coach at Towson University in Towson, Maryland. His last professional stint was as a member of the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played college football at Virginia Tech.
Rob Ambrose is an American college football coach. From 2009 to 2022, he was head coach of the Towson Tigers football team of Towson University. Ambrose was formerly the offensive coordinator of the UConn Huskies before being announced as Towson's head coach in December 2008. Ambrose played wide receiver for Towson in the early 1990s. Ambrose was selected as the Top FCS Coach for the 2011 season. In 2013, Towson advanced to the FCS National Championship Game for the first time in school history. Ambrose played his high school ball at Maryland's Middletown High School.
The Towson Tigers football team represents Towson University in the sport of American football. The Tigers compete in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) as a member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). The Tigers are currently coached by Pete Shinnick. Their home games are played at Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Maryland.
Terrance West is a former American football running back. He played college football at Towson and was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft. West has also played for the Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens, and New Orleans Saints.

Tom Patrick Flacco is an American football quarterback for the San Antonio Brahmas of the United Football League (UFL). He attended three different colleges: Western Michigan, Rutgers, and Towson. He also played baseball, and was drafted in the 32nd round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies. Flacco is the younger brother of Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco. He has also had stints in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Ottawa Redblacks.
