U.S. Catanzaro 1929 is an Italian professional football club based in Catanzaro, Calabria, who play their matches in Stadio Nicola Ceravolo. The club was officially formed in 1929 after entering teams in interregional tournaments from 1927.
The club has won six interregional level three titles, one interregional level four title, one national level four scudetto , and the Cup of the Alps in 1960 as part of the Italian Federation. Its best result in the Coppa Italia was runners-up in 1965–66. The club has competed in the Serie A seven times.

Unione Sportiva Catanzaro 1929, or simply Catanzaro, is a professional football club based in Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy, that competes in Serie B, the second tier of the Italian football championship, following a 17-year absence from it.
Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli is an Italian professional football club based in the city of Naples that plays in Serie A, the top flight of Italian football. In its history, Napoli has won three Serie A titles, six Coppa Italia titles, two Supercoppa Italiana titles, and one UEFA Cup.
Bruno Giordano is an Italian football manager and former player, who was deployed as a forward and is mostly remembered for winning the title of Serie A capocannoniere achieved with Lazio as well as for his successful time at Napoli. Giordano was a prolific striker with good technique and dribbling ability, and also possessed an accurate and powerful shot with either foot; due to his characteristics, he was regarded as the heir of Giorgio Chinaglia.

The 1978–79 season was Unione Sportiva Catanzaro's 47th season in existence and the club's first season returning to the Serie A after spending the previous season in Serie B. It was the club's third season overall in the Serie A. In addition to the domestic league, Catanzaro also participated in this season's edition of the Coppa Italia. Catanzaro finished 9th in the domestic league were semi-finalists in the Coppa Italia. Massimo Palanca was the Coppa Italia capocannonieri with 8 goals.
During the 1979–80 season Catanzaro competed in Serie A and Coppa Italia. It was the club's second consecutive season and fourth overall season in the Serie A. The club participated in the Coppa Italia for the 25th time.
During the 1980–81 season Catanzaro competed in Serie A and Coppa Italia. It was the club's third consecutive season and fifth overall season in the Serie A. The club participated in the Coppa Italia for the 26th time.
During the 1977–78 season Catanzaro competed in Serie B and Coppa Italia. After a successful campaign finishing second, the club was promoted to Serie A for the following season for the third time in the club's history.
The 2023–24 season is US Catanzaro 1929's 89th season in existence and the club's first season in Serie B after a seventeen-year hiatus. The club earned promotion by topping their group in the 2022–23 Serie C season. In addition to the domestic league, Catanzaro also participated in this season's edition of the Coppa Italia. Catanzaro finished 5th in the domestic league, qualifying for the promotion playoffs. The season covers the period from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024.
