International Federation of Muaythai Associations

The International Federation of Muaythai Associations, or IFMA, called the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur until 27 July 2019, is the sole recognised sport governing body of amateur and professional Muay Thai and Muay boran consisting of 130 member countries worldwide with 5 continental federations after unification of International Federation of Muaythai Amateur and World Muaythai Council. IFMA is officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), the Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF), the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) International World Games Association (IWGA), and Trim and Fitness International Sport for All Association (TAFISA). Muaythai has been included in many official sport programs such as the World Games, World Combat Games, Arafura Games, TAFISA Games, SEA Games, Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, Asian Beach Games, Demonstration Sport in the Asian Games.

World Muaythai Council

The World Muaythai Council (WMC) is one of the oldest and the largest professional sanctioning organizations of Muaythai in the world for the sport. The organization was set up in 1995 by parliament resolution, and is incorporated by the Royal Thai Government and sanctioned by the Sports Authority of Thailand, under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports (Thailand). The council has been charged with the responsibility for the expansion of Muaythai worldwide. This involves supporting youth interest and athletes to learn the skills of Muaythai.

2022 World Games Multi-sport event to be held in Birmingham, United States

The World Games 2022 will be the eleventh World Games, an international multi-sport event, meant for sports, or disciplines or events within a sport, that were not contested in the Olympic Games. While originally scheduled for July 2021, The World Games 2022 will be held July 7 to 17, 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama, United States of America, due to the rescheduling of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The host city was chosen by the International World Games Association on January 22, 2015, and the Games will feature 30 official sports in 54 disciplines which will be contested at 30 venues across the Birmingham area.

2021 Summer World University Games

The 2023 Summer Universiade, the XXXI Summer World University Games, commonly known as the Chengdu 2023 FISU World University Games, is a multi-sport event sanctioned by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), scheduled to be held from 12 to 25 August 2023 in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. These will be the third edition of the Games to be hosted by China, and the first edition to be branded under the "World University Games" title rather than "Universiade".

2021 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games

The 2021 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, officially known as the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games and also known as Bangkok–Chonburi 2021, is scheduled to be a pan-Asian multi-sport event in indoor and martial arts sports held from 17 to 26 November 2023 in the Thai capital city, Bangkok and the province of Chonburi. Originally due to take place from 21 to 30 May 2021, the event was postponed in January 2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) officially awarded the games to Bangkok and Chonburi Province and signed the hosting rights contract in April 2020.

World Skate Roller sports governing body

World Skate is the only governing body in the world for all sports performed on skating wheels. The organisation is the successor of the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS) founded on the 21 of April 1924.

The muaythai tournaments at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama, United States will be held from 15 to 17 July 2022 at the Boutwell Memorial Auditorium. Originally scheduled to take place in 2021, the Games have been rescheduled for July 2022 as a result of the 2020 Summer Olympics postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the second time of Muaythai including in the World Games.

The curling competitions of the 2022 Winter Olympics were held at the Beijing National Aquatics Centre, one of the Olympic Green venues. Curling competitions were scheduled for every day of the games, from February 2 to February 20. This was the eighth time that curling was part of the Olympic program.

Bangkok–Chonburi is an official bid for the Summer Youth Olympics by the city of Bangkok and the province of Chonburi and the National Olympic Committee of Thailand. The bid was originally made for the 2026 Games, but after the postponement of the 2022 Summer Youth Olympics in Dakar to 2026, the earliest Thailand could host the games became 2030. It was the second time of Thailand and the city of Bangkok bid the Youth Olympic Games after conceding to Singapore in the bidding for the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics.

Muaythai at the World Games

Muaythai was featured in the World Games official programme for the first time at the 2017 World Games in Wrocław, Poland. It has been played at all editions since then. Muaythai was added to the World Games following the decision of the IWGA Annual General Meeting in May 2013.
