Since its foundation in 1911, the football team representing Zamalek Sporting Club of Giza, Egypt has won over 82 titles. It is the first Egyptian club to win a title. Zamalek has also scored many successful seasons in the Egyptian Premier League and the Egypt Cup. On the international stage the club has frequently participated in the CAF Champions League and other tournaments run by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). [1]

The 1987-88 Zamalek SC season was Zamalek SC association football club's 78th season in existence. The club competed in the Egyptian Premier League, Egypt Cup, Afro-Asian Club Championship and the African Cup of Champions Clubs. The club were crowned champions of their domestic league, the Egyptian Premier League for the sixth time in their history because of a tie breaker on goal difference against the defending champions, Al Ahly SC. The Egyptian club also won the Egypt Cup, and the Afro-Asian Club Championship this season.

1988 Egypt Cup Final, was the final match of the 1987–88 Egypt Cup, between football clubs Zamalek and Al Ittihad Alexandria, Zamalek won the match 1–0.

The 2000–01 season is Zamalek Sports Club 90th season of football since existence in 1911, 46th consecutive season in the Egyptian Premier League, the top flight in the Egyptian football. The club qualified to the 2001 African Cup Winners' Cup as the defending champions, earned the right to participate in the 2001 CAF Super Cup against Hearts of Oak; the winner of the 2000 CAF Champions League.

The history of Zamalek SC originates in 1911, when the club was founded by George Merzbach on January 5 as Qasr El Nile.

The October Cup or October League is a one-time football tournament in Egypt that was held in 1974 instead of the canceled Egyptian League.

16 teams participated in the 1995–96 Egyptian Premier League season. The first team in the league was the champion, and was supposed to qualify to the CAF Champions League, but this did not happen as Al Ahly was boycotting the CAF competitions so the runner up Zamalek qualified instead. Al Ahly won the league for the 25th time in the club's history.

14 teams participated in the 1994–95 Egyptian Premier League season. The first team in the league was the champion, and was supposed to qualify to the African Cup of Champions Clubs, but this did not happen as Al Ahly was boycotting the CAF competitions so the Runner up Zamalek qualified instead. Al Ahly won the league for the 24th time in the club's history.
