Zamalek Sporting Club is a professional association football club based in Giza, Egypt, that plays in Egyptian Premier League. The club was established in 1911 as Qasr El Nil Club and played its first competitive match 1912. Zamalek is the first Egyptian club to ever win a title, when they won the Sultan Hussein Cup in 1921.
Zamalek SC is one of two clubs that have played in every season of the Egyptian Premier League, and one of seven that have never been relegated to the Egyptian Second Division. Since then, the club's first team has competed in numerous nationally and internationally organized competitions. The club has won 65 domestic trophies. At the international level, Zamalek is the most successful football club of the 20th century in Africa (gaining 9 titles versus 7 for their closest rival), with a total of 17 international titles. Zamalek was the first Egyptian team to ever qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup. [1]
Abdel Wahed El Sayed holds the record for most overall appearances, having played 504 from 1997 to 2014, ahead of Abdel Halim Ali who made 339 appearances from 1999 to 2009. Abdel Halim Ali is Zamalek's all-time record goalscorer with 138 goals in 339 appearances. Hassan Shehata is the second-highest scorer with 102 goals ahead of Ali Khalil, who is third with 94 goals. Zamalek has employed numerous famous players, with players winning African Footballer of the Year, EFA Egyptian Footballer of the Year. [2] [3]

Zamalek Sporting Club, commonly referred to as Zamalek, is an Egyptian sports club based in Giza, Egypt. The club is best known for its professional men's football team, which plays in the Egyptian Premier League, the top tier of the Egyptian football league system. The club is renowned for its consistent success at both domestic and continental levels, regularly contending in CAF tournaments.
Hossam Hassan Hussein is an Egyptian former professional football player who played as a striker, and current coach of the Egyptian national team. A prolific goal scorer, he is Egypt's all-time top scorer with 69 goals in 177 appearances. His twin brother Ibrahim also played professional football, and they shared teams for most of their extensive careers.
Hassan Shehata is an Egyptian retired football manager and former professional football player who played as a forward. He is considered as one of the best forwards in the history of African football. He is nicknamed the "Master". As a manager, Shehata led Egypt to three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations titles, in 2006, 2008 and 2010. He is the first ever coach to win three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations titles.
