The Ambassador of Ireland to the Czech Republic is the head of the Embassy of Ireland, Prague, and the official representative of the Government of Ireland to the Government of the Czech Republic.
The incumbent Ambassador is Cliona Manahan who was appointed in September 2019.
Ireland and Czechoslovakia initially had contacts had contacts through the League of Nations. A Czechoslovakian Consulate was established in Dublin in 1929 and was upgraded to a Legation in 1947. Communism’s arrival in 1948 interrupted the development of diplomatic relations until 1965 when a Czechoslovak Trade Mission was established in Dublin. This was upgraded to an Embassy in 1995. The Irish Trade Office opened in Prague in 1991 and the Irish Embassy in Vienna was responsible for diplomatic relations until 1995 when an Embassy was established in Prague. [1]
The Czech Republic is a Central European country, a member of the European Union, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OSCE), the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the United Nations. It entertains diplomatic relations with 191 countries of the world, around half of which maintain a resident embassy in the Czech capital city, Prague.
The foreign relations of Ireland are substantially influenced by its membership of the European Union, although bilateral relations with the United States and United Kingdom are also important to the state. It is one of the group of smaller nations in the EU, and has traditionally followed a non-aligned foreign policy. Ireland has historically tended towards independence in foreign military policy, thus it is not a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and has a longstanding policy of military neutrality. According to the Irish Defence Forces, the neutrality policy has helped them to be successful in their contributions to United Nations peace-keeping missions since 1960 and subsequently in Cyprus, Lebanon and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Czech Republic–Greece relations are foreign relations between the Czech Republic and Greece. The diplomatic relations between Greece and former Czechoslovakia were established in 1920 - after Czechoslovakia's foundation. Czech Republic and Greece established diplomatic relations on January 1, 1993. Each country has an embassy in the other's capital. Both countries are members of the European Union, NATO, OECD, OSCE, Council of Europe and the World Trade Organization.
Relations between Israel and the Czech Republic, and its predecessor state Czechoslovakia, have varied widely over time. Initially warm, Czechoslovakia-Israel relations deteriorated, and the two countries did not have diplomatic relations during most of the Communist rule in Czechoslovakia. China–Czech Republic relations or Sino–Czech relations are international relations between China and the Czech Republic. There were official relations by 1919 and formally established relations followed on 6 October 1949 between Czechoslovakia and China. In 1993, the Czech Republic was established and inherited the Czechoslovak treaty. The relations, trade and tourism between the China and the Czech Republic improved rapidly since the 1990s; and in the 2010s, agreements were made for more thorough economic improvements. Recently, relations have deteriorated due to major Czech politicians visiting Taiwan.

Czech Republic and Indonesia established diplomatic relations in 1950. Both nations has agreed to forge ties to deepen relations, especially in business and trade sector. Indonesia has an embassy in Prague, while Czech Republic has an embassy in Jakarta that also accredited to Brunei, Timor Leste, Singapore and ASEAN, and honorary consulates in Bali, Makassar and Surabaya.
Brazil–Czech Republic relations refers to the diplomatic relations between the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Czech Republic. Both nations enjoy friendly relations, the importance of which centers on the history of Czech migration to Brazil. Approximately 500 thousand Brazilians have Czech ancestry. Both nations are members of the United Nations.
Czech Republic–Spain relations are the bilateral and diplomatic relations between these two countries. The Czech Republic has an embassy in Madrid and consulates in Barcelona, Benidorm, Bilbao, Oviedo, Palma de Mallorca and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Spain has an embassy in Prague, as well as an Education Attaché, a Commercial Office and an Instituto Cervantes; the Delegation of Spanish Tourism for this country operates from Vienna.
The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Prague is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the Czech Republic. The embassy was originally Indonesia's diplomatic mission to Czechoslovakia. After the country's split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the embassy became the diplomatic mission for the former. The first Indonesia ambassador to Czechoslovakia was Rudolf Alexander Asmaun in 1957. The current ambassador to the Czech Republic is Kenssy Dwi Ekaningsih who was appointed by President Joko Widodo on 13 February 2019.
Cliona Manahan has been the Irish Ambassador to the Czech Republic and the Ukraine since September 2019. From 2014 until 2019, she was Ambassador of Ireland to Denmark and Iceland and was Consul General of Ireland to Scotland.
