The Ambassador of Spain to France is the highest legal representative of the Kingdom of Spain in the French Republic through the Embassy of Spain in France.

Function

Appointed by the Council of Ministers, the Ambassador of Spain to France directs the work of all the offices that depend on the embassy, based in the city of Paris. He also informs the Spanish government about the evolution of events in France, negotiates in the name of Spain, can sign or ratify agreements, observse the development of bilateral relations in all fields and ensures the protection of Spanish interests and its citizens in France.The current ambassador is Victorio Redondo Baldrich, who was appointed by the Government of Pedro Sánchez on 29 September 2021.

The Royal and Distinguished Spanish Order of Charles III, originally Royal and Much Distinguished Order of Charles III is a knighthood and one of the three preeminent orders of merit bestowed by the Kingdom of Spain, alongside the Order of Isabella the Catholic and the Order of Civil Merit. It was established by the King of Spain Charles III by means of the Royal Decree of 19 September 1771, with the motto Virtuti et mérito. It rewards political appointees, heads of State and high-ranking government officials for their actions in benefit to Spain and the Crown.

The royal governor of Panama ruled over the Spanish colonial administrative district known first as the colony of Darién and later as the colony of Castilla de Oro, which in 1529 was renamed Panamá. This district was subordinated to the Viceroyalty of New Granada on August 20, 1739. There were 113 such governors or presidents during the Spanish conquest and the later periods of Spanish-centered colonialism.

The House of Zúñiga is a Spanish noble lineage who took their name from their domain. Various members of the family were distinguished in the service of the Spanish crown in Europe and the Americas as viceroys, governors, military, diplomats, writers and members of religious orders.
