The Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic to Ecuador is the official representative of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) to Ecuador. The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic's embassy in Ecuador is located in Quito.
Ecuador first recognised the SADR in 1983, although relations were then frozen until February 8, 2006. [1] An embassy was then opened in 2015. [2]

Western Sahara, formerly the Spanish colony of Spanish Sahara, is a disputed territory claimed by both the Kingdom of Morocco and the Popular Front for the Liberation of the Saguia el Hamra and Rio de Oro, which is an independence movement based in Algeria. The Annexation of Western Sahara by Morocco took place in two stages, in 1976 and 1979, and is considered illegal under international law.
The foreign relations of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) are conducted by the Polisario Front, which maintains a network of representation offices and embassies in foreign countries.
The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) was proclaimed by the Polisario Front on 27 February 1976, in Bir Lehlu, Western Sahara. SADR claims sovereignty over the entire territory of Western Sahara, a former Spanish colony; however, at present the SADR government controls approximately 20–25% of the territory it claims. It calls the territories under its control the "Liberated Territories", whilst Morocco claims its territories as the "Southern Provinces".
Omar Emboirik Ahmed Abdelahi was the Sahrawi ambassador to Venezuela until late 2012, also accredited non-resident ambassador to Bolivia and Ecuador, with a base in Caracas.
Suleiman Tayeb Ahmed Salem is the current Sahrawi ambassador to Nicaragua, also accredited non-resident ambassador to Belize, with a base in Managua.
Panama–Sahrawi Republic relations refers to the current and historical relations between the Republic of Panama and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR). Panama was the first state of The Americas to recognize the SADR in July 1978, formal diplomatic relations were established on 1 June 1979. A Sahrawi embassy was opened in Panama City in 1980, during the Aristides Royo government.
