This is a list of assets owned by Media Prima Berhad , a Malaysian media and entertainment conglomerate based in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya, Selangor. [1]

Media Prima Television Networks

Media Prima owns and operates five free-to-air television channels, each of them functioning under their own branding and subsidiaries. TV3 and NTV7 were established long before Media Prima exist, while others, 8TV and TV9 were formed through the group's acquisition of defunct television companies.

WOWSHOP is the group's teleshopping network. It was established on 22 February 2016 as CJ Wow Shop, a joint venture with Korean conglomerate CJ Group's subsidiary, CJ E&M. The teleshopping network became a fully owned subsidiary after the group bought CJ's remaining 49% stake. [2] [3] Apart from TV3, NTV7, 8TV, TV9 and Malaysia's No.1 edutainment channel, DidikTV KPM, Wow Shop is also available in two purpose-built channels on my Freeview. [4] Tonton (formerly gua.com.my and later Catch Up TV) is the group's Over-the-top media service (OTT) which covers viewers across multiple devices such as computers, tablets, smartphones. [5]

Media Prima Audio

Media Prima Audio (formerly known as Media Prima Radio Networks and later Ripple Media or simply Ripple) is a radio broadcasting subsidiary of Media Prima. [6] [7] It includes five radio broadcast brands – Eight FM (formerly One FM and later 8FM), Kool 101 (formerly Kool FM and Buletin FM), Fly FM, Hot FM, Molek FM and a podcast platform – Audio+ (formerly Ais Kacang). [8] As of November 2021, based on the October 2021 Gfk Radio Survey, Media Prima Audio is the most popular radio network in Malaysia with over 5 million listeners and 57 million digital listeners since its rival, Astro Radio. [9] However, Media Prima does not have Tamil-language radio stations, unlike Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and Astro.

Media Prima International, Inc. is an international subsidiary of Media Prima which responsible for content development and distribution, headquartered in New York, United States.

New Straits Times Press

Media Prima owns more than 98% equity interest in the New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad (NSTP), which owns three of Malaysia's most recognised print and online news brands – namely its namesake the New Straits Times , [15] Berita Harian and Harian Metro , [16] [17] and their respective weekend editions [18] as well as an online newspaper archive, KLiK. Apart from news brands, NSTP also owns printing subsidiary Print Towers Sdn Bhd, tertiary education reference website Mind Campus [19] and learning portal FullAMark. [20]

Production and distribution

Primeworks Studios Sdn Bhd is a content company and commercial subsidiary of Media Prima. It is one of Malaysia's production houses with content output in diverse categories covering television, cinema, and digital platforms. [22] [23] While it starts producing television series as early as 1984, Primeworks only began to identify themselves by introducing their own logo in July 2008 to distinguish from Grand Brilliance, another Media Prima subsidiary which was established in 1995.

Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad, operating as TV3, is a Malaysian free-to-air television channel owned by Malaysian media conglomerate, Media Prima. TV3 is the third oldest TV station in Malaysia. It was launched on 1 June 1984 as the country's first and oldest private television channel. As of October 2021, TV3 remains to be the most-watched television station in Malaysia with about 17% of its viewing share among other Malaysian television stations, followed by TV9 with 15% of its viewing share, making two of them become the second most-watched television station in the country, despite the declining viewership of 3 free-to-air television channels.

Natseven TV Sdn Bhd, operating as NTV7 is a Malaysian free-to-air television channel owned by Media Prima Berhad. The third private commercial TV station in Malaysia, the network focused on the urban area with various types of programmes, dramas and news. As of October 2021, NTV7 is now become the second most-watched television station in Malaysia with about 15% of its viewing share, together with TV9, despite the declining viewership of 2 free-to-air television channels.

It is the largest media and entertainment conglomerate in Malaysia with business interests in television, print, radio, out-of-home advertising, content creation and digital media. As of 2022, Media Prima employs over 5,000 staffs in total, of whom approximately 1,300 are in private-sector broadcasting. The company forms half of the mass media duopoly in the country along with Astro.

Ch-9 Media Sdn Bhd, operating as TV9 is a Malaysian free-to-air television network owned and operated by Media Prima Berhad. It airs programming that tends mostly towards the Malay demographic. The channel formerly existed as Channel 9 from 9 September 2003 until 3 February 2005 due to financial difficulties faced by the operator and relaunched as TV9 on 22 April 2006. It started broadcasting 24 hours a day on 6 May 2019.

Fly FM is an English-language Malaysian private radio station owned by Media Prima Audio; a radio broadcasting subsidiary of Malaysian media conglomerate Media Prima. It was launched on 3 October 2005 and targets listeners aged between fifteen and thirty years old. Fly FM is the second-most popular English radio station in Malaysia and the fastest growing radio station in the country. The music on Fly FM is aired in both English and Malay.

The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad is a Malaysian newspaper publishing conglomerate, owned by Media Prima. The NSTP publishes several newspapers, including its namesake flagship newspaper as well as Berita Harian and Harian Metro.

All-Asian Satellite Television and Radio Operator, doing business as Astro, is a Malaysian satellite television, streaming television and IPTV provider. Astro is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad and is operated by MEASAT Broadcast Network Systems Sdn. Bhd. It operates from the All Asia Broadcast Centre (AABC) in Kuala Lumpur and MEASAT in Cyberjaya.

RTM TV2 is a Malaysian free-to-air public television channel owned and operated by the Radio Televisyen Malaysia, a broadcasting department of the Malaysian Government. Launched on 17 November 1969, TV2 is the second and second oldest TV station in Malaysia. The channel features mostly English, Mandarin and Tamil news and talk shows, the latter two languages were mainly produced for the dominant minority Chinese and Indian communities, whilst the English news functions for the nation's multiracial population whose dominant lingua franca or first language is the latter. It also offers some in-house, local and international entertainment programs, including reality shows, films and dramas as well as sports programming.

I Can See Your Voice Malaysia is a Malaysian Malay-language television mystery music game show series based on the South Korean programme of the same name. It premiered on 4 August 2018, and has been aired for seven seasons.

Mohd Syafiq Shamim bin Abdul Razak, known professionally as Syafiq Kyle, is a Malaysian actor. He is a former contestant of Hero Remaja 2011/12 with Fattah Amin and Saharul Ridzwan, where he earned second place in the competition. Since then, he began active as an actor on film and television.

The fourth season of the Malaysian Malay-language television mystery music game show I Can See Your Voice Malaysia premiered on TV3 on 23 May 2021, following an Eid al-Fitr special that aired on 16 May 2021.

Kool 101 is a Malaysian private radio station owned by Media Prima Berhad through its radio subsidiary, Media Prima Audio, which broadcasts in the Malay language. It was launched on 1 March 2016. It is the fourth radio station from Media Prima Audio after Eight FM, Fly FM, Hot FM and before Molek FM. The radio station is based on the acquisition of Laureate Sdn. Bhd. in October 2015, which owns Ultra FM and Pi Mai FM. Kool 101 is the first Media Prima radio station to remove the "FM" suffix from its brand name.

Molek FM, stylized as molek fm is a Malaysian private radio station operated by Media Prima Audio, a radio subsidiary of Media Prima Berhad, serving the East Coast areas of Peninsular Malaysia. The Station operates 24 hours daily from the Company's Sri Pentas headquarters in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The Station is targeted to listeners aged 18 to 39, as well as East Coast peninsular listeners aged 24 to 34.
