Notes
  1. Aburizal's position as general chairman was initially accepted by the majority of participants in the national conference. However, his position was threatened after the emergence of another national conference which appointed Agung Laksono as general chairman since December 8, 2014. They held their national conference in Jakarta, while Aburizal's was in Bali so that the leadership at this time experienced dualism within the party. [7] The conflict between the two camps ended after the Golkar Party (Golkar) held an extraordinary meeting on 17 May 2016 to elect a new general chairman for the remainder of the 2016 to 2019 term.
  2. Setya Novanto resigned as chairman before his term ends at the next national conference in 2019. He resigned after being named a suspect in a corruption case related to Electronic Identity Card. [9]
  3. Airlangga has been serving as general chairman since December 13, 2017, replacing his predecessor, Setya Novanto through a plenary meeting held on the same day.
  4. Airlangga Hartarto resigns as general chairman before his term ends at the next national conference in 2024. [14]
