Roads in India are an important mode of transport in India. India has a network of over 6,331,791 kilometres (3,934,393 mi) of roads. This is the second-largest road network in the world, after the United States. At of roads per square kilometre of land, the quantitative density of India's road network is equal to that of Hong Kong, and substantially higher than the United States, China, Brazil and Russia. Adjusted for its large population, India has approximately 5.13 kilometres (3.19 mi) of roads per 1,000 people, which is much lower than United States 20.5 kilometres (12.7 mi) but higher than that of China 3.6 kilometres (2.2 mi). India's road network carries over 71% of its freight and about 85% of passenger traffic.

Gopalrao Deshmukh Marg formerly known as Pedder Road is an arterial road in the city of Mumbai, India, passing through the affluent Cumballa Hill neighbourhood. The road is named after a social activist and first Mayor of Bombay after India's Independence, Dr. Gopalrao Deshmukh.

Navi Mumbai International Airport, officially named as D. B. Patil International Airport, is an international airport being constructed in Ulwe, Navi Mumbai, Raigad district, Maharashtra, India. When completed, it will become the second airport of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, serving alongside Mumbai's existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

Expressways are the highest class of roads in India. In July 2023, the total length of expressways in India was 5,579 km (3,467 mi), with 8,366 km (5,198 mi) under construction. These are controlled-access highways where entrance and exits are controlled by the use of cloverleaf or trumpet or grade separated interchanges that are incorporated into the design of the expressway and designed for maximum speed of 120 km/h, whereas National highways are flyover access or tolled, where entrance and exit is through the side of the flyover, at each intersection of highway with road, flyovers are provided to bypass the city/town/village traffic and these highways are designed for speed of 100 km/h. Some roads are not access-controlled expressways but are still named expressways, such as the Biju Expressway, these are actually state highways that are not declared by the central government as an Expressway, hence not an Expressway or National Highway.

Carmichael Road is an upmarket residential street of Mumbai, India. Situated on a ridge in South Mumbai, it is now officially called M.L. Dahanukar Marg. It has many old style bungalows and apartment houses, such as the art deco Kamal Mahal of film director, Kamal Amrohi. The street and surrounding neighbourhood is and has been home to Mumbai's rich and famous such as the Modys, the Commissariats, the Dahanukars, the Somaiyas, the Lalbhais, the Walchands and the Morarjees.

The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, officially named as Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri–Nhava Sheva Atal Setu and colloquially known as Atal Setu, is a 21.8 km (13.5 mi) 6-lane elevated highway bridge, which connects Mumbai with Navi Mumbai, its satellite city. It is the longest sea bridge in India, and the world's 12th longest sea bridge. The bridge begins in Sewri, South Mumbai, crosses Thane Creek north of Elephanta Island, and terminates at Chirle near Nhava Sheva in Uran taluka, Navi Mumbai. The road is linked to the Mumbai–Pune Expressway in the east and to the Coastal Road in the west. The 6-lane highway is 27 meters in width, in addition to two emergency exit lanes, two edge strips, parallel crash barriers and noise barriers on both sides. The project costs a total of 17,843 crore (US$2.2 billion). The bridge has a capacity to handle 70,000 vehicles per day. Construction on the bridge began in April 2018, and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 12 January 2024.

Line 1 (Blue Line) of the Mumbai Metro is a rapid transit metro line in the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The 11.40 km (7.08 mi) line is fully elevated and consists of 12 stations from Versova to Ghatkopar. The line connects the eastern and western suburbs of Mumbai. It was built at an estimated cost of 4,321 crore (US$540 million) and is operated by the Metro One Operation Pvt Ltd (MOOPL) on a 5-year contract. This special purpose vehicle, namely, Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (Mumbai Metro 1) was incorporated for the implementation of the project. Reliance Infrastructure holds 69% of the equity share capital of MMOPL, 26% is with Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).and the remaining 5% stake with Veolia Transport

Line 3 (Aqua Line) of the Mumbai Metro is a rapid transit metro line in the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. When completed, the 33.5 km (20.8 mi) long line will be the first underground metro line in Mumbai, with 27 underground stations and one at-grade station. The line will run from Navy Nagar in the far-south of Mumbai to Aarey Depot in the north-centre, and will include connections to other metro lines, monorail, suburban rail, inter-city rail, and Mumbai's International Airport. Line 3 is expected to reduce road congestion as well as the load on the Western Line between Bandra and Churchgate.

Phase One of Line 2A was partially opened on 2 April 2022 from Dahisar East to Dahanukarwadi.

Line 7 (Red Line) of the Mumbai Metro is a rapid transit metro line in the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. When completed, the 30.08 km (18.69 mi) line will connect Bhayander with the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport with 24 stations. The line is mostly elevated except for the 2.49 km (1.55 mi) underground twin tunnels at its southern terminus.

Dharmveer Swarajya Rakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Road is a partially opened 8-lane, 29.2-km long grade separated expressway along Mumbai's western coastline connecting Marine Lines in the south to Kandivali in the north. It is projected to be used by 130,000 vehicles daily, and is expected to reduce travel time between South Mumbai and the Western Suburbs from 2 hours to only 40 minutes. The estimated cost of the project is 13,060 crore (US$1.6 billion). Its first phase, which is inaugurated on 11 March 2024, is a 10.58 km section from Princess Street flyover to the Worli end of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
