The province of North Sulawesi is a province in Indonesia that was established as part of the separation of the province of North and Central Sulawesi into the province of North Sulawesi and the province of Central Sulawesi in 1964. [1]

  1. Arnold Achmad Baramuli could also be considered as the inaugural holder as he was the first governor of the province of North and Central Sulawesi in which North Sulawesi was a part of until it became a separate province from Central Sulawesi on 23 September 1964.

Police-General Badrodin Haiti was the Chief of the Indonesian National Police from 16 January 2015 until 13 July 2016, succeeding, Police-General Sutarman. On 16 January 2015 Badrodin was appointed by Indonesian President Joko Widodo to be the Acting Chief of Indonesian National Police replacing Sutarman, who officially retired from the service and awaiting for elected Police Chief Police-Commissioner General Budi Gunawan who was a suspect on a corruption case. On 16 April 2015, he was confirmed unanimously by Indonesian House of Representatives and sworn in by President Joko Widodo on 17 April 2015. He was replaced by Police-General Tito Karnavian.

Djarot Saiful Hidayat is an Indonesian politician who is currently a member of the People's Representative Council. He was the governor of Jakarta, in office between 15 June and 15 October 2017 after being acting governor since 9 May. He replaced his predecessor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama when the latter was found guilty of blasphemy against Islam. He was appointed by Basuki as Deputy Governor in 2014 to fill the gap left by the election of Joko Widodo as president.

Frits Johanes Tumbelaka, also known as Broer Tumbelaka, served in the Indonesian military, rising to the rank of lieutenant colonel. He also served in the government as governor of North and Central Sulawesi and, after the province was split into North Sulawesi and Central Sulawesi, he served as the first governor of North Sulawesi. He played an important role in finding a peaceful solution to the conflict between the Indonesian government and the Permesta movement.

Sinyo Harry Sarundajang was an Indonesian politician. He served as governor of North Sulawesi for all but one month from 2005 to 2015. He was also a former Governor of North Maluku in 2002 and Maluku in 2002–2003. In February 2018, he was appointed by the President Joko Widodo as the ambassador to the Philippines, with concurrent accreditation to the Marshall Islands and Palau.

A gubernatorial election was held across the province of North Kalimantan on 8 December 2015, to elect the province's governor for the 2016-2021 five-year term. There were two pairs contesting the election, and Irianto Lambrie who had previously taken a temporary post as the province's governor defeated former Tarakan mayor Jusuf Serang Kasim.

Ribka Haluk is an Indonesian bureaucrat and current acting governor of Central Papua. She previously held office as head of Women Emancipation Office of Jayawijaya Regency in 2004 and then become acting regent of Mappi Regency in 2017 and also acting regent of Yalimo Regency in 2021. She was appointed as a special staff under Ministry of Home Affairs before being appointed again as the acting governor of newly formed province of Central Papua. She is the first female Papuan to be appointed as a governor.
