The following is the list of incumbent mayors of Metro Cebu. Metro Cebu is the main urban center of the province of Cebu in the Philippines, comprising seven cities and six municipalities.
The mayors of Metro Cebu are considered as the local chief executives of their respective localities and are also members of the Metropolitan Cebu Development and Coordinating Board (MCDCB) patterned to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) but doesn't have legal and institutional powers and resources. Cebu, officially the Province of Cebu, is a province of the Philippines located in the Central Visayas (Region VII) region, and consists of a main island and 167 surrounding islands and islets. Its capital is Cebu City, nicknamed "the Queen City of the South", the oldest city and first capital of the Philippines, which is politically independent from the provincial government.
Cebu City, officially the City of Cebu, is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 964,169 people, making it the sixth-most populated city in the nation and the most populous in the Visayas.
Lapu-Lapu City, officially the City of Lapu-Lapu, is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 497,604 people.
Mandaue, officially the City of Mandaue, is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 364,116 people.
Toledo, officially the City of Toledo, is a 3rd class component city in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 207,314 people.
Talisay, officially the City of Talisay, is a 3rd class component city in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 263,048 people.
Cordova, officially the Municipality of Cordova, is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 70,595 people.
Metropolitan Cebu, or simply Metro Cebu,, is the main urban center of the province of Cebu in the Philippines. Metro Cebu is located along the central eastern portion of the island including the nearby island of Mactan. It accounts for 19.9 percent of the land area and 61.5 percent of the population of the entire province of Cebu.
The Legislative districts of Cebu are the representations of the province of Cebu and the highly urbanized city of Mandaue in the various national legislatures of the Philippines. The province and city are currently represented in the lower house of the Congress of the Philippines through their first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh congressional districts.
The Mactan–Mandaue Bridge, officially the Ferdinand Marcus, also known as First Cebu-Mactan Bridge is a truss bridge that connects the cities of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu in Metro Cebu, Philippines. It is one of two bridges that spans across the Mactan Channel, the other being the Marcelo Fernan Bridge, and connects the islands of Cebu and Mactan.
The Cebu Bus Rapid Transit System is a planned mass transit system for Cebu City located within the greater Cebu Metropolitan Area. It is expected to become the first operational bus rapid transit project in the Philippines. Only one line has been planned in detail so far, but scheme developers note the potential to develop a larger network comprising the adjacent cities Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue and Talisay. Leadership in both Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue have shown interest in the network. This will be constructed at the end or last quarter of 2017 and the first route could be operational by the end of 2019.
Gwendolyn Buray Ecleo, MDMG (born August 25, 1974) is a graduate from UPLB and a Local Government Academy (LGA) scholar since May 23, 2014, is a Filipino politician who has been the unopposed Mayor of Dinagat, Dinagat Islands, Philippines since May 2004 until 2013, and also the Philippine Benevolent Missionaries Association, Incorporated Princess.
The Cebu–Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX), also known as the Cebu–Cordova Bridge, Third Cebu–Mactan Bridge, and colloquially known as the Third Bridge locally, is a 8.9 km (5.5 mi) toll bridge expressway under construction in Metro Cebu which will link Cebu City and Cordova, Cebu. It is the third road link between Cebu and Mactan Islands. Once finished, it will become the longest bridge in the Philippines surpassing the Candaba Viaduct of North Luzon Expressway in Luzon, while also surpassing the Marcelo Fernan Bridge as the longest cable-stayed bridge in the Philippines.
The Cebu Monorail Transit System, simply known as the Cebu Monorail, is a proposed monorail rapid transit system to be built in Metro Cebu, Philippines. Originally proposed by the Japanese in 2015 as the Cebu MRT System, it was revised to a light rail line in the late 2010s, dubbed the Cebu Light Rail Transit System or Cebu LRT. It was then again revised to its present form in late 2019.
Transportation within Cebu City is mainly land-based with most parts of the city accessible by road. There is no existing mass transit but there is an existing proposal for a Cebu Bus Rapid Transit System and Cebu Light Rail Transit System.
Junard "Ahong" Quirante Chan is a Filipino politician from Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines. He currently serves as the mayor of Lapu-Lapu City. Chan previously served as barangay captain of Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City from 2013 to 2019 and as a member of the City Council from 2001 to 2010.
Ma. Esperanza Christina Garcia Frasco is a Filipino politician from Liloan, Cebu, Philippines. She currently serves as the mayor of Liloan. Frasco is a lawyer by profession, having previously practiced international arbitration and commercial litigation with one of the largest top tier law firms in Asia, Romulo Mabanta Buenaventura Sayoc and Delos Angeles.
Gerald Anthony "Samsam" Vargas Gullas Jr. is a Filipino politician serving as the mayor of Talisay, Cebu since 2019. He previously served as representative for Cebu's 1st congressional district from 2013 to 2019.
Lakambini "Neneth" Generans Reluya is a Filipino politician from San Fernando, Cebu, Philippines. She currently serves as the mayor of San Fernando. Reluya's husband, Ricardo Reluya, Jr., filed his candidacy for vice mayor in the 2019 elections but was killed in an ambush on January 22, 2019. Their son, Ricci Regen Reluya, was placed in as a substitute and eventually won as vice mayor.
