Whitehorse is the capital of the Yukon, and the largest city in Northern Canada. It was incorporated in 1950 and is located at kilometre 1426 on the Alaska Highway in southern Yukon. The Whitehorse City Council is the governing body of the city of Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. The council consists of a mayor plus six councillors elected at large for three-year terms. Starting October 2024, the mayor and councillors will serve four-year terms. The current mayor of Whitehorse is Laura Cabott, since 2021.

The Yukon Territorial Council was a political body in the Canadian territory of Yukon, prior to the creation of the Yukon Legislative Assembly. Although not a full legislature, the council acted as an advisory body to the Commissioner of Yukon, and had the power to pass non-binding motions of legislation which would be forwarded to the commissioner for consideration.

Herbert Gordon Armstrong was a Canadian politician, who served as mayor of Whitehorse, Yukon from 1950 to 1958.

Albert James Wybrew was a Canadian politician, who served as mayor of Whitehorse, Yukon from 1968 to 1973.

The Order of Yukon is a civilian honour for merit in the Canadian territory of Yukon. Instituted in 2018, with its first members inducted in 2019, it is the highest honour which can be bestowed by the Government of Yukon. It is intended to honour current and former residents of the territory.

Walter Frank Wolfgang von Lengerke was a Canadian politician, who represented Whitehorse Riverdale on the Yukon Territorial Council from 1975 to 1978.
