TV Nova is a commercial television station in the Czech Republic. It began broadcasting in February 1994 as the first privately held nationwide Czech TV station. Its first CEO was Vladimír Železný. It quickly achieved the largest market share in the country and remained in this position until the early 2010s.

Czechoslovakia sent a force of 200 to take part in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm as part of the Coalition of the Gulf War. This operation was the sole military operation carried out by Czechoslovakia during the democratic period prior to its breakup in 1993. It was also the first armed conflict Czechoslovak troops took part in since World War II. The unit deployed to Saudi Arabia specialized in chemical defense and decontamination, a major concern in the Gulf War due to Saddam Hussein's use of mustard and nerve agents in the Iran–Iraq War. Czechoslovak forces were equipped with UAZ-469 all terrain vehicles equipped with chemical detection gear, Tatra T-815 transporters, and a variety of trucks designed for decontamination. The two platoons were headed by Colonel Ján Való. In the wake of the Gulf War, investigations were carried out by the Czech and Slovak government into claims of Gulf War Syndrome amongst returned veterans. Czechoslovak forces recorded the release of toxins such as sarin in Iraqi territory, that were attributed to as the causes of the syndrome.
Karel Dobrý is a Czech film, television and stage actor. He is known for playing Liet-Kynes in the Dune 2000 miniseries, and Korba in the 2003 sequel Children of Dune, and as Matthias in Mission: Impossible. He also appeared in the award-winning film The Girl of Your Dreams by Fernando Trueba.
Kamil Střihavka is a Czech rock singer and musical actor. In 1986, he became a member of the power metal group Motorband. In 1992, he formed BSP with Ota Balage and Michal Pavlíček. He has also released several solo projects and sung in many musicals. In 2015, he was inducted into the Beatová síň slávy.
Political Prisoners.eu Association is a Czech association mainly focusing on the issue of political prisoners of the communist regime in Czechoslovakia. The association has collected the oral historical testimonies of former political prisoners and tries to popularize their history in various ways. Among other things, it has produced several publications and restored the educational trail 'Jáchymov Hell' in Jáchymov. The organisation is a member of the Platform of European Memory and Conscience.

Dobré ráno, Brno! is a comedy television series directed by Jan Prušinovský, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Tomáš Holeček. Prušinovský was inspired by Czech TV show Dobré ráno. The series he exaggerates and parodies Dobré ráno, its crew and the behind-the-scenes situations. Prušinovský wrote the script for the series based on his own experience when he himself was a guest on the Dobré ráno broadcast in the Brno studio. The series starrs Jan Kolařík, Zuzana Zlatohlávková, Ondřej Kokorský, Simona Lewandowská, Roman Slovák, Tereza Volánková, Ivana Hloužková and Nikola Mucha.
Ondřej Dostál is a Czech lawyer and politician who was elected as a member of the European Parliament in 2024. He is an independent politician aligned with SD-SN and the Stačilo! coalition.
