This is the list of notable people who were born, lived or grew up in Quetta (the provincial capital of Balochistan province of Pakistan) and Quetta District. List is ordered by the professions of people.
Quetta is a natural fort, surrounded as it is by imposing hills on all sides. It is encircled by hills Chiltan, Takatoo, Mordar and Zarghun. It is believed that the earliest Muslim inhabitants and rulers/owners of the city were the Pashtun Kasi Tribe. Quetta was first mentioned in the 11th century when it was captured by Mahmood of Ghazni on one of his invasions of the subcontinent. In 1543 the Mughal emperor Humayun rested here on his retreat to Persia, leaving his one-year-old son Akbar until he returned two years later. The Ghilzai power in Kandahar at the beginning of the eighteenth century, simultaneously with that of the Baloch in Kalat, Quetta and Pishin became the battle-ground between the Afghans and Baloch in the region. Ahmed Shah Durrani finally handed Quetta over to the Khan of Kalat Mir Noori Naseer Khan Baloch for helping him with his army in 1751 against the Marathas in the Battle of Panipat (1761), and against the Sikhs in 1765. Today, it is an important city in Pakistan. Quetta has a majority Pashtun population, with more than 20% of its inhabitants being Pashtun.
Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo was a Pakistani politician from Balochistan. He served as the 3rd Governor of Balochistan.
The Peshawar High Court is the provincial and highest judicial institution of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan. It is located in the provincial capital Peshawar. The Parliament passed a bill extending the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court (SC) and the Peshawar High Court to Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), one of a handful of reforms paving the way for a merger of the tribal areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Wali Kirani was a Muslim saint. His date of birth and date of death are not known, but is believed to have lived around the time of Sultan Hussain Mirza's rule in Herat around 1470.
Qazi Muhammad Isa was a Pakistani politician and one of the leading founding fathers of Pakistan. He was an advocate of the Pakistan Movement and represented Balochistan in the Lahore Conference that led to the ratification of Lahore Resolution. He led the Muslim League's branches in Balochistan and NWFP. His son Qazi Faez Isa is the current Chief Justice of Pakistan.
Shahzada Rehmatullah Khan Durrani was a Pakistan Movement activist born on 10 October 1919 in the Sadozai dynasty of Durrani, the ethnic Pashtun Sadozai tribe, section of the Popalzai sub clan of Durrani Abdali Pashtun tribe in British India, Quetta.
Hazara Town is a lower- to middle-income area on the western outskirts of Quetta, Pakistan with a population of up to 2,500,000, of which an estimated all the residents are ethnic Hazaras, with a few population of Pashtuns and Baloch.
Chiltan Adventurers Association Balochistan is a non-profit government adventure sports association in Balochistan, Pakistan. It consists of young boys and girls dedicated to the promotion of mountain adventure, sports climbing and associated sports. Its goals are to protect the new generation from dangerous drug abuse, by providing them with healthy sporting opportunities, organizing training camps, and national and provincial level event expeditions. 95% of all the players receiving training from CAAB are students of schools and colleges in Balochistan. The activities of the CAAB are financed by self-help, donations, and subscriptions of members and annual grant-in-aid from Balochistan Sports Control Board (BSCB) Quetta.

Abdul Majeed Khan Achakzai is a Pakistani politician from Balochistan affiliated with the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party. Born in 1962 in Gulistan, he is an agriculturist by profession and is a graduate of the University of Balochistan. From 2002 to 2007, he served as a member of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan. He was elected from the PB-13 constituency.
