Singing actors in Indian cinema are Indian film actors who do their own singing.

Since the 1950s, most songs in films produced by the various regional Indian cinema industries have been sung by playback singers; the actors who appear to be singing and dancing are only lip-synching the words.

In the earliest years of Indian cinema, actors were more likely to be singers and to leave the dancing to specialists who appeared in what are called "item numbers." Stars such as Kishore Kumar, K. L. Saigal, Suraiyya, and Noor Jehan were known as both singers and actors. However, in the 1950s and 1960s, producers and directors increasingly tended to hire actors who could dance and leave the singing to playback singers.

Incidentally, both of them have hosted the award ceremonies previously but with different co-hosts, hence making it the first time for this pair to host the show. The 57th Filmfare awards were televised on 19 February 2012 to the public.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, also abbreviated as ZNMD, is a 2011 Hindi-language coming-of-age adventure comedy film directed by Zoya Akhtar and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under Excel Entertainment. The film stars an ensemble cast of Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin. A co-production between India and Spain, it was filmed in Spain, India, Egypt, and the United Kingdom on a budget of ₹45 crore. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is the soundtrack album to Zoya Akhtar's 2011 Hindi film of the same name starring Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar. The film has seven songs and two remixes composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. The album marks the second collaboration of the trio with Zoya Akhtar, and eighth with Excel Entertainment. The music was released on 17 June 2011 by T-Series.

"Señorita" (transl. Miss) is a song from the 2011 Indian film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. It was composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy and performed by Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Spanish singer María del Mar Fernández. The lyrics were penned by Javed Akhtar. The Latino-flavoured Spanish flamenco song is about being yourself and having fun.

Dominique Cerejo is an Indian female playback singer best known for the song "Yeh Tumhari Meri Baatein" from Rock On!!. She has sung in over thirty bollywood soundtrack albums. She is married to Clinton Cerejo, who also works in the Indian music industry.

The 4th Mirchi Music Awards, presented by the Radio Mirchi, honoured the best of Hindi music from the year 2011. The ceremony was held on 21 March 2012 at the Bhavan's College Ground (Andheri), Mumbai and was hosted by Shaan and Usha Uthup. There were many performances, including those by Saif Ali Khan, Parikrama, Shreya Ghoshal, Bappi Lahiri and Mika Singh. There was a live jugalbandi featuring Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, Lalit Pandit, Salim–Sulaiman, Ram Sampath, Sajid–Wajid and Leslie Lewis. Ash King, Harshdeep Kaur, Neha Bhasin, Anushka Manchanda, Tochi Raina, Shweta Pandit, Dominique and Clinton Cerejo, Kamal Khan, Suman Shridhar, Shefali Alvares, Benny Dayal and Ritu Pathak also performed during the award show. Rockstar won a leading five awards including Album of the Year. Song of the Year went to "Senorita" from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The show was broadcast on 31 March 2012 on Colors.
