Liu Yen-chiu (born 1 March 1962) is a Taiwanese athlete. She competed in the women's high jump at the 1984 Summer Olympics. [1]
The Republic of China (Taiwan) competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich for the last time as the "Republic of China". The ROC would not return to the Olympics until 1984 and under the name "Chinese Taipei" due to objections by the People's Republic of China over the political status of Taiwan.

The IOC restrictions over the ROC name led to the ROC boycott of the Summer Games of 1976 and 1980; the PRC boycotted the Olympic Games prior to the adoption of the resolution. The 1984 Summer Games Chinese Taipei team included 31 men and 7 women, taking part in 40 events in 12 sports. In weightlifting, athletes both from Chinese Taipei and the People's Republic of China won medals.
The Republic of China competed as Chinese Taipei at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. 61 competitors, including 43 men and 18 women, took part in 84 events in 13 sports.
Chiu Ping-kun is a famous Taiwanese archer and coach. He obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Northern Colorado. He is also an international archery judge. Chiu participated at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Prior to succeeding Kao Chun-hsiung as president of National Taiwan Sport University, Chiu led the NTSU Graduate Institute of Coaching Science. Chiu has also served as executive director of Taiwan's National Sports Training Center.

Chu Mu-yen is a Taiwanese Taekwondo athlete from Taiwan. He is the second Taiwanese athlete and the first male to win a gold medal at the Olympics, winning in men's under 58-kilogram class in Taekwondo at the Athens 2004 Games. In the 2008 Olympics, Chu won the bronze medal in the men's under 58-kilogram class in Taekwondo. He also won the gold medal in the 2003 World Taekwondo Championships.
