The move in musical composition from reggaetón and hip hop is credited to Queen's evolution as a musical artist.
"Que Lloren" (English: Let Them Cry) is a song by Puerto Rican reggaetón recording artist Ivy Queen, from her sixth studio album, Sentimiento (2007). It was composed by Queen, produced by Monserrate & DJ Urba, and released as the lead single off the album in January 2007. Lyrically, the song degrades the stereotype that men shouldn't cry and they are weak if they show emotions. The song gained positive to mixed reviews from critics, reaching the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot Latin Songs, Latin Rhythm Airplay, and Latin Tropical Airplay charts. A remix version with Tito "El Bambino", Naldo and Arcángel was also recorded and featured on the platinum edition of the album, after Sentimiento was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on May 10, 2007, two months after the standard edition was released. Ivy Queen performed the song at Latin Grammy Awards of 2007. It was included on the set of her 2008 World Tour which was held from the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum known as the Coliseum of Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The song's accompanying music video was filmed in Downtown Miami, Florida. It was directed by Marlon Peña.

"Esperanza" is a song by Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias for his third studio album Cosas del Amor (1998). It was co-written by Igleias and Chein García-Alonso with Rafael Pérez-Botija handling its production. A power ballad, it is a confessional song of love and forgiveness. Upon "Esperanza"'s release, one reviewer lauded Iglesias's vocals and the song's arrangements while another found it too similar to his debut single "Si Tú Te Vas". Filmed in Malibu, California, the accompanying music video for "Esperanza" was directed by Emmanuel Lubezki, which won Video of the Year at the 11th Annual Lo Nuestro Awards in 1999. Gente de Zona is a Cuban reggaeton duo made up of musicians Alexander Delgado (Hernandez) and Randy Malcom. In 2014, the duo gained success with the collaboration of Mario Proenza, who helped them record with Enrique Iglesias the song "Bailando". The Tropical Airplay chart is a record chart published by Billboard magazine introduced in 1994. The first number-one song on the chart was "Quien Eres Tu" by Luis Enrique. Originally, rankings on the chart were determined by the amount of airplay a song received on radio stations that primarily played tropical music, namely music originating from the Spanish-speaking areas of the Caribbean such as salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia, vallenato, and tropical fusions. Joel Muñoz Martinez and Randy Ariel Ortiz Acevedo, best known as Jowell & Randy, is a reggaeton duo from San Juan, Puerto Rico. They met in 2000 and began working as a duo a year later, reaching international success in 2007 as members of Casa de Leones alongside compatriot rappers J King & Maximan and Guelo Star. Jowell & Randy's first studio album as duo, Los Más Sueltos del Reggaetón, was released in December 2007 under Warner Music Group and White Lion Records, a record label founded by Elías de Leon, one of reggaeton's most respected producers. However, their most successful album was El Momento, released in May 2010 under Wisin & Yandel's WY Records. It achieved the duo's highest debut on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart, peaking at number 2 and charting for 12 weeks. Three years later, they released their third and yet last studio album, Sobredoxis, which debuted at number-one on Billboard's Latin Rhythm Albums chart. After that, the duo went to underground reggaeton, supporting new acts and serving as executive producers to their respective albums. The duo also released four non-successful mixtapes between 2010 and 2016: Tengan Paciencia, Pre-Doxis, Under Doxis and La Alcaldía del Perreo. During their career, Jowell & Randy performed different music genres, including reggaeton, underground reggaeton, reggae, latin pop, dancehall, pop rock and tribal.
"Loco de Amor" is a song by Puerto Rican singer Jerry Rivera from his seventh studio album Fresco, (1996). The song was written by Mary Lauret and produced by Sergio George and Cuto Soto. It is a salsa tune, in which Rivera confesses that he is crazy in love. The song received positive from music critics, being identified by them as a standout from the album. It was nominated for the Tropical Song of the Year award at the 9th Annual Lo Nuestro Awards in 1997 and was a recipient of the ASCAP Latin Award in the tropical field in the same year. In the United States, "Loco de Amor" reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart and topped the Tropical Airplay chart, spending eight weeks at this position on the latter chart. A music video for the song was filmed in a barn.
