Katherine Logan Brill is an American singer and songwriter from Knoxville, Tennessee. She currently writes for Carnival Music and released her debut album, Walking Wires (Carnival Recording Company), in October 2013. Her musical style has been described as a combination of country, roots, blues, and Americana.
Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Brill was exposed to a variety of music growing up: artists such as Jackson Browne, the Grateful Dead, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Patty Griffin. [1] While none of her family were professional musicians, they were all music lovers. After dinner they would frequently have family "jam sessions." [2] In her teens, Brill continued to expand musically by playing in her brother's jazz band.
At 18, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue an education at Belmont University. Not wanting to limit herself to music, she earned a degree in French with a minor in vocal performance. After a friend introduced her to workers at Carnival Music, Brill signed with the label in early 2012. [3]
Brill's debut album, Walking Wires, was released on October 15, 2013. [4] [5] [6] [7] It features ten tracks and was produced by Oran Thorton and Matthew Miller.
Two of her songs have been featured on the VH1 reality show, Couples Therapy . "Scars" was featured on season four (episode six), "Rewind" was featured on season 4 (episode 3). [8] Both are included on Walking Wires. She also recorded and a released the single, "Wailing Wall", in a partnership with Massachusetts-based charity organization, Montachusett Veterans' Outreach Center, drawing attention to women Veterans' issues with proceeds of sales benefiting MVOC. Logan has appeared since her release on sold-out bills in markets from Nashville to Chicago to Washington, DC, including acoustic opening spots with artists like Steve Earle, Josh Turner, Jerry Douglas, Leon Russell, Ashley Monroe, Gary Allan, and Todd Snider, as well as with her band at national concert events like Virginia Beach's Patriotic Festival with The Band Perry and Cincinnati's first annual Buckle Up Festival with headliners Alison Krauss, Willie Nelson, & David Nail.
Brill released her second album, Shuteye, on June 2, 2015, and it sold 1,100 copies on its debut week. [10] She also performed at North Carolina's famed roots festival, Merlefest, California's largest Country Music Festival, Stagecoach, making her Grand Ole Opry debut, and touring appearances with icons Merle Haggard and Dwight Yoakam.
The Nashville Sound rated Walking Wires as its 6th best album of the year. They added "The minute the album starts out with the outstanding track,'There's No Such Things As Ghosts,' the listener recognizes the power in the album. The sound is fresh and the lyrics are poignant. At only 22, her storytelling belies her age. The depth of the emotions conveyed through the performances relate well to her soulful voice, particularly when singing of loss and heartache." [11]
CMA Close Up Magazine featured Brill in its "debut spotlight" section in November 2013. They said Brill "mixes earthy and ethereal narratives with sharp storytelling. Edge and energy frame her elegant sense of lyric." [12]

Miranda Leigh Lambert is an American country singer, songwriter and guitarist. Born in Longview, Texas, she started out in early 2001 when she released her self-titled debut album independently. David Brent Nail is an American country music artist, and frontman of the band David Nail & The Well Ravens. Jessica Rose James Decker is an American country pop singer. At age 15, after auditioning for and being rejected by most of the country labels in Nashville, Tennessee, Decker began working with Carla Wallace of Big Yellow Dog Music. One of her songs attracted the attention of Mercury Records, which offered her a recording contract. She released her debut album, Jessie James, in 2009. A few years later in 2013, she starred with her husband Eric Decker, a wide receiver in the National Football League, in the E! reality show Eric & Jessie: Game On.
Joey + Rory was an American country and bluegrass duo composed of singer-songwriters Rory Feek and Joey Feek, who were husband and wife. Both members of the duo were vocalists and songwriters, with Rory also playing acoustic guitar. Rory Lee Feek had written singles for other artists prior to the duo's foundation. The duo was the third-place finalist on CMT's competition Can You Duet in 2008. Her debut studio album, Wildflower, was released on October 11, 2011. Her second album, Road Less Traveled, was released January 27, 2017. Alaina later achieved her first number one on the Country Airplay chart with the album's title track. Her second number one came later that year when she simultaneously topped five Billboard charts with her friend and former classmate Kane Brown on their duet "What Ifs". In addition to this song with Brown, Alaina became an in-demand duet vocalist throughout the next few years, appearing on number one collaborations with Hardy, Devin Dawson, and Dustin Lynch. "Come Home" is a song by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder for the band's debut album, Dreaming Out Loud (2007). The piano-based ballad features orchestral flourishes, and lyrically revolves around the eponymous pleading hook "Come home, come home". Some reviewers felt the song had political undertones as an appeal to recall American troops as Tedder had written the song about a friend serving overseas. "Come Home" was highlighted as a refreshing change of pace from the many similar-sounding songs composing Dreaming Out Loud.
Bernie Tom Collins is an American music producer and publisher in Nashville, Tennessee who has received three CMA Awards as Producer of the Year, and seven Grammy nominations. He produced a steady stream of country music hits over a 30-year span from artists including Ronnie Milsap, Barbara Mandrell, Sylvia, Tom T. Hall, Jim Ed Brown, James Galway, Marie Osmond, and Steve Wariner. Collins served as chairman of the Board of the CMA in 1979 and 1980.
Kane Allen Brown is an American singer. First garnering a mass following on social media, he released his debut extended play (EP) Closer in June 2015, and followed it up with the single, "Used to Love You Sober" in October of that year. After Brown signed with RCA Nashville in early 2016, the song was included on his second EP and major label debut, Chapter 1 in March 2016. He released his eponymous debut studio album later that year in December. The album spawned the single "What Ifs", and in October 2017, Brown became the first artist to have simultaneous number ones on all five main Billboard country charts. Brown released his second album, Experiment, in November 2018, which became his first number one album on the Billboard 200.
"Half of My Hometown" is a song recorded by American country music artists Kelsea Ballerini and Kenny Chesney. It was released to country music radio on April 19, 2021, as the fourth single from Ballerini's third studio album Kelsea. Ballerini co-wrote the song with Ross Copperman, Nicolle Galyon, Shane McAnally, and Jimmy Robbins. An alternate recording of the song is also included on Ballerini's first remix album, Ballerini.
