The London boroughs are the 32 local authority districts that make up Greater London; each is governed by a London borough council. The London boroughs were all created at the same time as Greater London on 1 April 1965 by the London Government Act 1963 and are a type of local government district. Twelve were designated as Inner London boroughs and twenty as Outer London boroughs.
Ilford is a district and large town in east London, located 9.1 miles (14.6 km) east of Charing Cross. It is the administrative centre of the London Borough of Redbridge. Ilford is also identified as a major centre in the London Plan. Although Ilford is in the London Borough of Redbridge, a part is also in the London Borough of Newham.
Barking and Dagenham is a London borough in East London, England. It lies around 9 miles (14.4 km) east of Central London. It is an Outer London borough and the south is within the London Riverside section of the Thames Gateway; an area designated as a national priority for urban regeneration. At the 2011 census it had a population of 187,000, the majority of which are within the Becontree estate. The local authority is Barking and Dagenham London Borough Council. Barking and Dagenham was one of six London boroughs to host the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Sir Godfrey Kneller, 1st Baronet, was the leading portrait painter in England during the late 17th and early 18th centuries, and was court painter to English and British monarchs from Charles II to George I. His major works include The Chinese Convert ; a series of four portraits of Isaac Newton painted at various junctures of the latter's life; a series of ten reigning European monarchs, including King Louis XIV of France; over 40 "kit-cat portraits" of members of the Kit-Cat Club; and ten "beauties" of the court of William III, to match a similar series of ten beauties of the court of Charles II painted by his predecessor as court painter, Sir Peter Lely.
East Ham is a district of the London Borough of Newham, England, 8 miles (12.8 km) northeast of Charing Cross. East Ham is identified in the London Plan as a Major Centre.
Whitton is a suburban area in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Together with the neighbouring electoral ward of Heathfield, it forms the north-western part of Twickenham and is located in Southwest London. Whitton and Heathfield are often considered together for administrative purposes. The area has a railway station on the Windsor Line from London Waterloo and has good road links with the A316 running through the area that leads to the M3 motorway. The focus of the district is the High Street which is one of the best-preserved 1930s high streets in London. The most common type of housing in the area is 1930's detached and semi-detached housing. As a mainly residential area in outer London, many residents commute to Central London; education, retail, transport and catering businesses are also significant local employers.

The Royal Military School of Music (RMSM) trains musicians for the British Army's twenty-two bands, as part of the Corps of Army Music. The RMSM is based at Kneller Hall, in Twickenham, west London, but the Ministry of Defence has recently indicated that the site will be sold, with the School moving elsewhere.
Newham London Borough Council is the local authority for the London Borough of Newham. It is a London borough council, one of 32 in the United Kingdom capital of London. The council is unusual in that its executive function is controlled by a directly elected mayor of Newham, currently Rokhsana Fiaz. Newham is divided into 20 wards, each electing three councillors. Newham London Borough Council comprises all 60 Labour Party Councillors since May, 2018. It earlier comprised 59 Labour Party councillors and a solitary councillor expelled, with immediate effect from the Labour Party in 2017. The council was created by the London Government Act 1963 and replaced three local authorities: East Ham Borough Council, West Ham Borough Council and Woolwich Metropolitan Borough Council.
Valence House Museum is the only surviving of the five manor houses of Dagenham. The timber-framed museum building, partially surrounded by a moat, is situated in Valence Park off Becontree Avenue, in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, London, England. The building has been used a manor house, a family home, a town hall, the headquarters of the library service and now houses a museum.
Barnet Museum is in the London Borough of Barnet. It has displays on topics including the Battle of Barnet, Barnet Fair and Market. It is a centre for local and family research and its archives, library and reference collection are available for use by members of the public.
Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre is a building in Chippenham, Wiltshire, England, which serves as a focal point for heritage services relating to Wiltshire and Swindon. It is funded by Wiltshire Council and Swindon Borough Council. It has purpose-built archive storage and research facilities and incorporates the local studies library, museums service, archaeology service, Wiltshire buildings record and the conservation service. These services were formerly housed in separate locations in Trowbridge and Salisbury and are now together under one roof. The centre opened to the public on 31 October 2007 and is being marketed as a "passport to the past" for those interested in Wiltshire and Swindon history.
Havering Museum is a local museum located in the town of Romford, in the London Borough of Havering. It is primarily focused on the studies and artifacts from the five towns that encompass the borough of Havering. Located in what remains of the old Ind Coope Romford Brewery, it is one of the last reminders of Romford's brewing history. Completely volunteer run the museum is self-funded through various Events, Groups and Sponsors. Relating to the history of the London Borough of Havering, providing a home for exhibits of Havering's past defining what makes Havering Havering, celebrating the achievements of local people past and present.
The mayor of Newham is a directly elected mayor responsible for the executive function of Newham London Borough Council in east London, England. The position is different from the previously existing annually appointed mayors of Newham, known as 'Civic Ambassador' from 2002 until the office was discontinued in 2009. The inaugural holder of the post, created on 2 May 2002, Robin Wales. After Labour held Newham in Local Elections, Rokhsana Fiaz was elected as mayor. Wales did not run as he was deselected as a candidate.
