Long Way Back to the Moon is the seventh studio album from heavy metal band, Galactic Cowboys. It was released on November 17, 2017 through Mascot Label Group, as their comeback release after a seventeen year hiatus. [1]
In 2015, bass player Monty Colvin was contacted by Jim Pitulski, an A&R for Mascot Records, who offered a contract in return for the band's reunion. [2] Within a year, the band with its original lineup had regrouped and began working on new music. The album was written and recorded in Houston and Kansas City in early 2016, however, the opening track, "In the Clouds", was actually written in 1989 by Doss and Colvin, as the first song the band ever wrote. Cowboys from Hell is the fifth studio album and major label debut by American heavy metal band Pantera, released on July 24, 1990, by Atco Records. It marked the first of many collaborations with producer Terry Date. This was also the album where Pantera fully abandoned the glam metal style of their previous albums in favor of a heavier sound. He is recognized for his unique vocals, and heavily distorted bass tone. Pinnick often plays bass with a guitar pick, though he has also been seen using his fingers.

Nitro was an American heavy metal band from Hollywood, California. Formed in 1988, the group originally featured vocalist Jim Gillette, guitarist Michael Angelo Batio, bassist T. J. Racer and drummer Bobby Rock. Nitro released its debut album O.F.R. in 1989, which reached number 140 on the US Billboard 200. Rock was replaced by K. C. Galactic Cowboys are an American heavy metal band based in Houston, Texas. They combine progressive metal with a vocal style influenced by The Beatles and the heavy playing style of thrash bands such as Anthrax. They have been described as "possibly the most melodic metal band ever to exist in Christian or general markets." Although the band members are Christians, they did not consider Galactic Cowboys to be a Christian band. The band has toured with prominent hard rock and metal acts such as Anthrax, Dream Theater, King's X and Overkill. Despite their general lack of commercial success, the band garnered a cult following throughout its existence.

The Horse That Bud Bought is the fourth studio album from heavy metal band Galactic Cowboys. The album title comes from the lyrics to the song "Oregon". The song is derived from real life events where bassist Monty Colvin and his family sold all of their worldly goods and joined a cult that lived in a commune up in the mountains of Oregon. The cult leader was upset that Monty's father had bought him a horse and told him he had to give it to the whole "family".
