This was the tenth edition of Los Premios 40 Principales, the annual awards organized by Spanish music radio Los 40 Principales. It was held on December 11, 2015 in Madrid's Barclaycard Center. The nominees were announced on October 8, 2015. [1]

This is the last edition before the awards were rebranded as Los 40 Music Awards, due to the station shortening its name to just Los 40.

Pablo Moreno de Alborán Ferrándiz, popularly known as Pablo Alborán, is a Spanish musician and singer-songwriter. Throughout his career, Alborán has released five studio albums, two live albums, and various musical collaborations. His records are distributed by Warner Music which he was signed to in 2010. That year he released "Solamente Tú", the lead single from his 2011 self-titled debut album. The track topped the charts in his home country for two consecutive weeks. The album peaked at number one in its first week of sales, making Alborán the first solo artist to sign a complete debut album to rank to the top since 1998 in Spain. Alborán was nominated for Best New Artist at the 12th Latin Grammy Awards.

The Latin Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album is an award presented by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. It began to be presented at the 2012 ceremony. The awards replaced the previous awards for Best Female Pop Vocal Album, Best Male Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Album by a Duo or Group with Vocals. According to the Latin Grammy description guide it is designed "For albums containing 51% or more playing time of newly recorded material and 51%playing time of Contemporary Pop music. Albums must also contain 51% or more playing time of vocal tracks. For solo artists, duos or groups."

Sirope is the 11th studio album recorded by Spanish singer-songwriter Alejandro Sanz. It was produced by himself alongside Grammy award winner Sebastian Krys. It was released on May 4, 2015. Sirope earned nominations for Album of the Year and won for Best Contemporary Pop Vocal Album at the 16th Latin Grammy Awards. Sirope also received a nomination for Best Latin Pop Album at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.
