"No Me Ames" is a Latin pop duet recorded by American singers Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony for Lopez's debut studio album, On the 6 (1999). It is a Spanish cover version of the Italian song "Non Amarmi", written by Giancarlo Bigazzi, Marco Falagiani and Aleandro Baldi and recorded by Baldi and Francesca Alotta for Baldi's album Il Sole (1993). The song was translated into Spanish by Ignacio Ballesteros at Anthony's request. Two versions of the song were produced for On the 6; one as a ballad and the other as a salsa. The ballad version was produced by Dan Shea, while the salsa version was arranged and produced by Juan Vicente Zambrano. The music video was directed by Kevin Bray and received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Short Form Music Video. It served as the encore during the couple's co-headlining tour in 2007.
Sergio George is an American pianist, arranger, and record producer, known for working with many famous performers of salsa music, although he has worked in other genres of the music industry as well. The Billboard Latin Music Awards grew out of the Billboard Music Awards program from Billboard magazine, an industry publication charting the sales and radio airplay success of musical recordings. The Billboard awards are the Latin music industry's longest running award. The award ceremonies are held during the same week as Latinfest+.

Dicen Que Soy is the third studio album by Puerto Rican recording artist La India released on September 20, 1994, by RMM Records. The album was produced by American musician Sergio George, who chose the songs for India to record with an emphasis on feminism to suit with her voice. The production mixes salsa music with other rhythms such as funk and timba. Five singles were released from the record with "Nunca Voy a Olvidarte" and "Ese Hombre" topping the Billboard Tropical Songs chart.
The Tropical Airplay chart is a record chart published by Billboard magazine introduced in 1994. The first number-one song on the chart was "Quien Eres Tu" by Luis Enrique. Originally, rankings on the chart were determined by the amount of airplay a song received on radio stations that primarily played tropical music, namely music originating from the Spanish-speaking areas of the Caribbean such as salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia, vallenato, and tropical fusions. Any song, regardless of its genre, was eligible for the chart if it received enough airplay from the panel of tropical music radio stations being monitored.

"Non c'è" is an Italian ballad written by Pietro Cremonesi, Angelo Valsiglio and Federico Cavalli and recorded by pop singer Laura Pausini. It is the second single from the singer's first album, Laura Pausini. The song was also recorded in Spanish under the title "Se fue" and included in Pausini's Spanish-language debut album, released in 1994. A remix version of "Se fue" was released in 1994 and became popular in Spanish dance clubs. The song later became one of Pausini's best known singles.
"Nunca Voy a Olvidarte" is a song written by Roberto Belester and first recorded by Mexican grupero band Bronco for their album Salvaje y Tierno (1991). In the song, the protagonist is leaving and vows to never forget the time he spent with his lover. In 1993, Mexican singer-songwriter Cristian Castro covered the song on his album, Un Segundo en el Tiempo. Castro's version peaked at number-one on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart in the United States became his first number-one single.

It was produced by Kike Santander and released in 2000 as the fourth single from his sixth studio album Mi Vida Sin Tu Amor (1999). Lyrically, the song is about a man who promises to keep loving his lover even though she is gone. In the United States, it peaked at number three and two on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs and Latin Pop Songs charts and received a Billboard Latin Music nomination for Pop Track of the Year. "Por Amarte Así" was the fifth best-performing Latin single of 2001 in the United States.
Tropical Albums is a record chart published by Billboard magazine. Established in June 1985, the chart compiles information about the top-selling albums in genres like salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia, and vallenato, which are frequently considered tropical music. The chart features only full-length albums and, like all Billboard album charts, is based on sales. The information is compiled by Nielsen SoundScan from a sample representing more than 90% of the U.S. music retail market, including not only music stores and music departments at electronics and department stores but also direct-to-consumer transactions and Internet sales. A limited number of verifiable sales at concert venues is also tabulated. Innovations by El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico was the first album to reach number-one in the chart on June 29, 1985. Up until May 21, 2005, reggaeton albums appeared on the chart. After the installation of the Latin Rhythm Albums chart, reggaeton titles could no longer appear on the Tropical Albums chart. By removing reggaeton albums from the Tropical Albums chart, it opened slots for re-entries and debuts. American bachata group Aventura claimed the top spot on the Tropical Albums chart, which marked the first time since the issue dated November 6, 2004 that a reggaeton album was not at the number-one spot. The current number-one album on the chart is Todavía Me Amas: Lo Mejor De Aventura by Aventura.
Trópico is the fifteenth compilation album by the Guatemalan singer-songwriter Ricardo Arjona, released on 13 June 2009. The album consists of Arjona's past songs, drawn from Animal Nocturno (1992) to Galería Caribe (2000), which are performed either by him, or by other Latin artists, including Marc Anthony, Tito Nieves and Gilberto Santa Rosa. The album follows Sony's release of Simplemente Lo Mejor in December 2008, and it marks the second compilation album released after Arjona's departure to Warner Music in September 2008.
"Olvídame y Pega la Vuelta" is a song written and recorded by Argentine sibling duo Pimpinela from their 1982 self-titled album. Pimpinela recorded an English-language version of the song titled "Get Out of My Life, Now!" as well an Italian version titled "Te puoi scordare per sempre di me" and in Portuguese titled "Siga seu rumo". Servando & Florentino is a Venezuela music duo consisting of brothers Servando Primera and Florentino Primera. They are sons of Venezuelan musician and activist Alí Primera, who died in 1985. They began their music career as part of the salsa band Salserín and left the group in 1997. In the same year, they released their debut album, Los Primera, which contained the lead single, "Una Fan Enamorada". The song topped the Hot Latin Songs and Tropical Airplay charts in the United States. The duo received three Lo Nuestro nominations for "Tropical/Salsa Duo or Group of the Year", "New Tropical/Salsa Artist of the Year", and "Tropical/Salsa Song of the Year" for "Una Fan Enamorada" in 1999. Their album, Los Primera, was nominated at the 1999 Latin Billboard Music Awards for "Tropical/salsa album of the year, duo or group" and "Tropical/salsa album of the year, new artist".
"Una Fan Enamorada" is a song by Venezuelan duo Servando & Florentino from their debut album Los Primera (1997). It was written by Venezuelan musician Ricardo Montaner and released as the album's lead single in 1997. The song was recorded in salsa and ballad. It speaks of a "direct intimacy and understanding to every smitten fan who pined for the guys". Diana Raquel of La Prensa praised as a "catchy song where the voices of Servando and Florentino are heard in perfect harmony." The Miami Herald critic Eliseo Cardona was less impressed with the track, stating it should only be listed to once as it has "the same plot of a Venevision soap opera". "Una Fan Enamorada" served as the closing theme for the Venezuelan telenovela Todo por tu amor (1997). "Una Fan Enamorada" was nominated in the category of Tropical Song of the Year at the 11th Annual Lo Nuestro Awards, but lost to "Suavemente" by Elvis Crespo.
