Louie Castro (born August 18, 1999) is an American influencer, make-up artist, YouTuber, content creator. He has become one of the most prominent male beauty personalities in the Latinx and LGBTQ+ communities. He has collaborated with major brands such as Morphe Cosmetics, Tarte Cosmetics and won both Premios Juventud and American Influencers award.
Castro was born in Watsonville, California, United States. He was raised in a Mexican-American family alongside his two sisters, Andrea and Yoatzi Castro, the latter of whom is also a YouTuber and social media influencer. [1] [2] Castro attended local schools in Watsonville, where he was known for his outgoing personality and interest in creative arts.
Castro later enrolled at California State University, Monterey Bay, where he studied communication and media studies. [3] During his time in college, he began exploring content creation more seriously, producing comedic and lifestyle videos for social media. [4]
Castro began his online career in 2014, when he launched his YouTube channel Louie’s Life. [5] Initially, he posted personal vlogs and comedic "storytime" videos that highlighted his sense of humor and storytelling skills. In 2017, Castro grew significantly on social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, where he became known for his entertaining skits and creative makeup looks. [10] Around this time, he also began collaborating with other influencers includes James Charles, Patrick Starrr, Daus Mendoza and brands within the beauty community. [11] In 2020, he won Premios Juventud Award for Mejor LOL (Best LOL Moment), recognizing his comedic and authentic digital content. In 2021, Castro collaborated with Morphe Cosmetics on the Sweetest Tea Collection, a limited edition line that included an eyeshadow palette, lip products, and accessories.
