Louise Mai Jansen (born April 14, 1984) is a Danish former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and individual medley events. [1] She is an eighteen-time national champion and a Nordic record holder in the freestyle and medley (both 200 m). She is also an eighth-place finalist in the 200 m individual medley at the 2010 European Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary with a time of 2:17.37, just eight seconds off the record set by Julie Hjorth-Hansen in 2009. [2] Jansen is an economics graduate, majoring in mathematics at Copenhagen Business School in Copenhagen.

Jansen made her first Danish team at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. There, she failed to reach the semifinals in any of her individual events, finishing thirty-seventh in the 200 m freestyle, [3] [4] and thirtieth in the 200 m individual medley with respective times of 2:06.06 and 2:27.08. [5] [6]

At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Jansen extended her swimming program to two events: 200-metre freestyle and 4×200-metre freestyle relay. She cleared a FINA B-standard entry time of 2:02.20 (200 m freestyle) from the Danish Open in Copenhagen. [7] In the 200 m freestyle, Jansen raced to fourth place and thirty-fourth overall on the same heat as Athens by exactly one second ahead of Singapore's Lynette Lim in 2:01.30. [8] She also teamed up with Hjorth-Hansen, Micha Østergaard, and Lotte Friis in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay. Swimming the third leg, Jansen recorded a split of 2:00.31, and the Danish team finished the preliminary heats in tenth overall with a Danish record of 8:00.81. [9]

At the 2009 FINA World Championships in Rome, Italy, Jansen helped her Danish team (Hjorth-Hansen, Ostergaard, and Friis) to dip under an eight-minute barrier and broke a new record of 7:55.56 in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay, but finished only in twelfth place overall from the preliminary heats. Micha (Kathrine) Østergaard is a Danish former swimmer, who specialized in 100 & 200 m butterfly.

Serhiy Mykolaiovych Advena is a Ukrainian former swimmer who specializes in the freestyle and butterfly swimming styles. He is a two-time Olympian, and a multiple-time Ukrainian record holder in both 100 and 200 m butterfly. He also helped out the Ukrainian team to upset their American rivals and claim the medley relay title (3:38.49) at the 2005 Summer Universiade in Izmir, Turkey.

Łukasz Wójt is a Polish swimmer, who specialized in middle-distance freestyle and individual medley events. He represented his nation Poland at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has won two bronze medals in a major international competition, spanning the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand, and the 2008 European Short Course Championships in Rijeka, Croatia. Apart from his international career, Wojt has also claimed multiple Polish championship titles and currently holds the national record in the 200 (1:54.81) and 400 m individual medley (4:03.20), both set at the FINA World Cup meet in Berlin, Germany.

Melissa Jane Corfe is a South African swimmer, who specialised in freestyle and backstroke events. She is a multiple-time South African champion and record holder for her respective events. Corfe represented her nation South Africa at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has won a total of five medals, including three golds in the women's freestyle, at the 2007 All-Africa Games in Algiers, Algeria. She also set two national records, as a member of the South African swimming team, in the freestyle and medley relays, at the 2008 FINA World Short Course Championships in Manchester, England.

Marina Vladimirovna Mulyayeva is a Kazakh former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle and individual medley events. She is a six-time national record holder, a multiple-time ACC titleholder, and a one-time NCAA Honorable Mention All-American swimmer. Mulyayeva is also a varsity swimmer for the Maryland Terrapins and an international business major at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland.

Elina Partõka is an Estonian former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. She is a three-time Olympian, and a daughter of Valentin Partyka, who competed in both 200 and 400 m individual medley at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany, representing the Soviet Union.

Lára Hrund Bjargardóttir is an Icelandic former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and individual medley events. She is a multiple-time Big West Conference honoree, four-time Icelandic record holder, and a member of the swimming team for the UC Irvine Anteaters at the University of California, Irvine.

Adam Lucas is an Australian Olympic swimmer who specialized in individual medley (IM) events. Lucas represented Australia at the 2004 Summer Olympics Games in Athens, Greece, swimming in the 200m IM. Lucas was the Australian Record holder in the Men's short course 100 IM, and won a silver and bronze World Championship medal as a member of 4x200m Freestyle Relay squads at the 2004 World Short Course Championships in Indianapolis, USA, and the 2005 World Championships in Montreal, Canada.

George Gleason is a former swimmer from the U.S. Virgin Islands, who specialized in freestyle and backstroke events. He is a two-time Olympian, a swimming captain for the Yale Bulldogs, and a graduate of sociology (2001) at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Gleason also capped his swimming career by an eleventh-place finish in the 200 m backstroke at the NCAA Swimming Championships in College Station, Texas, earning him All-American honors.

Han Kyu-chul is a South Korean former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle, butterfly, and individual medley events. He is a two-time Olympian, and an eight-time bronze medalist at the Asian Games.

Aleksey Vladimirovich Zatsepin is a Russian former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and individual medley events. Dominique Lorraine Diezi is a Swiss former swimmer who specialized in sprint freestyle events. She is a two-time Olympian, a 32-time Swiss national champion, a multiple-time record holder in sprint freestyle, and a member of Switzerland's national swimming team (1992–2004). She also earned multiple All-American honors while studying in the United States.

Oleg Pukhnatiy is an Uzbek former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and individual medley events. He is a three-time Olympian, and a top 16 finalist at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea.

Blake John Pieroni is a three-time Olympic gold medalist in swimming. He is a two time Olympian and gold medalist in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay at both the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2020 Summer Olympics. On the relay in 2016, he swam in the prelims of the race, on the 2020 Olympics 4×100-meter freestyle relay he swam in both the prelims and the final. He also won a gold medal in the 4x100-meter medley relay at the 2020 Olympic Games, swimming the freestyle leg of the relay in the prelims.
