Julie Hjorth-Hansen (born 10 June 1984) is a Danish former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and individual medley events. [1] [2] She placed among the top 10 swimmers in the 200 m individual medley at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has won a bronze medal at the 2004 European Short Course Swimming Championships in Vienna, Austria in 2:13.03. [3]

Hjorth-Hansen competed for the Danish swimming squad in the women's 200 m individual medley at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Leading up to the Games, she cleared a FINA A-standard entry time of 2:12.74 at the Mare Nostrum Arena International Meet in Canet-en-Roussillon, France. [4] [5] Hjorth-Hansen dipped under the 2:12 barrier in the prelims to secure her spot for the semifinals, checking in with a Danish record and fifth fastest time of 2:11.99. [6] [7] Followed by the next morning's session, Hjorth-Hansen failed to advance to the final, as she finished her semifinal run with a tenth-place overall time in 2:12.26. [8] Hjorth-Hansen also teamed up with Louise Mai Jansen, Micha Østergaard, and Lotte Friis in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay. Swimming the lead-off leg, Hjorth-Hansen recorded a split of 1:59.16, and the Danish team finished the preliminary heats in tenth overall with a new national record of 8:00.81. [9]

At the 2009 FINA World Championships in Rome, Italy, Hjorth-Hansen broke two new Danish records. In the 200 m individual medley, she placed fifth in the final by 0.18 of a second behind Great Britain's Hannah Miley, breaking the 2:10 barrier and lowering her record to 2:09.73. [10] [11] She also helped her Danish team (Jansen, Ostergaard, and Friis) to dip under an eight-minute barrier and broke a new record of 7:55.56 in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay, but finished only in twelfth place overall from the preliminary heats. Glenn Surgeloose is a Belgian swimmer, who specializes in sprint freestyle events. He collected a bronze medal in the 200 m freestyle at the 2007 European Junior Swimming Championships in Antwerp, Belgium. Surgeloose is a member of Brabo Antwerp, and is coached and trained by Ronald Gaastra.

Choi Hye-Ra is a South Korean swimmer, who specialized in butterfly and individual medley events. She collected four medals in the 200 m butterfly, 200 m individual medley, and the 800 m freestyle relay at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar, and at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China. She also won a silver medal in the same medley distance at the 2011 Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, China, with a time of 2:14.17. She is a resident athlete of Osan Sports Club in Seoul.

Raminta Dvariškytė is a Lithuanian swimmer who specialized in breaststroke events. She represented her nation Lithuania at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has claimed multiple Lithuanian championship titles and two national records in both the breaststroke and medley relay events.

Anna-Liisa Põld is an Estonian-born American competition swimmer who has represented Estonia in international events. She competes in the backstroke, butterfly, and individual medley events. She is a two-time national record-holder at the FINA World Championships, and a multiple-time high school and collegiate record-holder. She also represented her birth nation Estonia at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.

Louise Mai Jansen is a Danish former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and individual medley events. She is an eighteen-time national champion and a Nordic record holder in the freestyle and medley. She is also an eighth-place finalist in the 200 m individual medley at the 2010 European Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary with a time of 2:17.37, just eight seconds off the record set by Julie Hjorth-Hansen in 2009. Jansen is an economics graduate, majoring in mathematics at Copenhagen Business School in Copenhagen.

Micha (Kathrine) Østergaard is a Danish former swimmer, who specialized in 100 & 200 m butterfly.

Danil Bugakov is an Uzbek former swimmer, who specialized in backstroke, freestyle and individual medley events. He won two medals for the 50 m backstroke at the Asian Swimming Championships. He is also the brother of freestyle swimmer and three-time Olympian Mariya Bugakova.

Erla Dögg Haraldsdóttir is an Icelandic swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke and individual medley events. She represented her nation Iceland at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has claimed a total of twenty-four Icelandic championship titles and eleven national records in both the 50 and 100 m breaststroke.

She is a six-time national record holder, a multiple-time ACC titleholder, and a one-time NCAA Honorable Mention All-American swimmer. Mulyayeva is also a varsity swimmer for the Maryland Terrapins and an international business major at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland.

Svetlana Anatolyevna Karpeyeva is a Russian swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and individual medley events. She has been selected to the Russian swimming team in a medley double at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and also claimed three bronze medals in a major international competition, spanning two editions of the Summer Universiade.

Airi Mitsui is a Japanese competitive swimmer. At the 2022 Junior Pan Pacific Championships, she won the gold medal in the 200 metre butterfly and silver medals in the 100 metre butterfly and 4×100 metre medley relay. At the 2022 World Short Course Championships, she placed sixth in the final of the 200 metre butterfly.
