Critical reception

Exclaim! wrote that "the songs themselves are generally uninspired, and often feel unfinished despite being co-written, almost all of them, with top-notch songwriters." [4] Relix wrote that Carll's "hard-bitten tales bring favorable comparisons to Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark and Kris Kristofferson." [7]

Allison Moorer is an American singer/songwriter. She signed to MCA Nashville in 1997 and made her debut on the U.S. Billboard Country Chart with the release of her debut single, “A Soft Place To Fall,” which she co-wrote with Gwil Owen.
