Low Roar is the debut album by the American-Icelandic musical project Low Roar, released on November 1, 2011, through Tonequake Records. "Help Me," the album's eighth track, was featured in the animated documentary film Flee.
Low Roar can be described as a post-rock, ambient and folk-rock album. The album is based on musician Ryan Karazija's move to Iceland, who was formerly of the indie rock band Audrye Sessions, as well as the change and introversion of fall.[ citation needed ]
After moving from Livermore, California to Reykjavík, lead singer Ryan Karazija, formerly of the American indie rock band Audrye Sessions, chronicled the difficulty of acclimating to a foreign land, finding work, and supporting his family by writing a song each day. [2]
The album was recorded with nothing more than a laptop in Ryan's kitchen in Reykjavík, as a result of having a very low budget after moving to Iceland. [3]

The Sugarcubes were an Icelandic alternative rock band from Reykjavík formed in 1986 and disbanded in 1992. For most of their career, the band consisted of Björk Guðmundsdóttir, Einar Örn Benediktsson, Þór Eldon (guitar), Bragi Ólafsson (bass), Margrét "Magga" Örnólfsdóttir (keyboards) and Sigtryggur Baldursson (drums). Previous members included Friðrik Erlingsson (guitar) and Einar Melax (keyboards).
Sigur Rós is an Icelandic post-rock band that formed in 1994 in Reykjavík. It comprises lead vocalist and guitarist Jón Þór "Jónsi" Birgisson, bassist Georg Hólm and keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson. Known for their ethereal sound, frontman Jónsi's falsetto vocals, and their use of bowed guitar, Sigur Rós incorporate classical and minimal aesthetic elements. Jónsi's vocals are sung in Icelandic and non-linguistic vocalisations the band terms Vonlenska. They have released eight studio albums, and attracted critical and commercial attention with their second album Ágætis byrjun.

For a Minor Reflection is a post-rock band from Reykjavík, Iceland. Their self-produced debut album Reistu þig við, sólin er komin á loft... featuring six songs lasting an hour in total, all recorded over a weekend in Iceland. The record, as well as their energetic live shows, earned them a slew of accolades, including favourable comparisons to Explosions in the Sky. Their fellow Icelanders Sigur Rós even described them as “a band with the potential to out Mogwai” and invited them on a 15 dates European tour with them in November 2008.

Once in a Long, Long While... is the third album by Icelandic band Low Roar, released on April 14, 2017. The album's lyrics are inspired by Ryan Karazija's recent divorce and his life as an expatriate in Iceland. One reviewer described the album as "flow[ing] between dreamy and floating and more solidly rhythmic tracks," and another described it as having an "atmosphere [that] never permits the sun to linger for very long, shutting it out with harsh, icy synth." The song “Waiting " was released as a single.
Unun were an Icelandic pop-rock band from Reykjavik. It was formed by Gunnar Lárus Hjálmarsson and Þór Eldon Jónsson in 1993. They were joined by Ragnheiður Eiríksdóttir (Heiða) in 1994. The group disbanded in July 1999.
