Lowell Curtis Pye (born March 28, 1970) is an American gospel musician. He started his music career, in 1996, with the gospel group Men of Standard, yet his solo career commenced in 2010, with the release of Finally by Miralex Entertainment. His second album, Transformed, was released by Entertainment One in 2014. Both albums charted on Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart.

Early life

Pye was born in Detroit, Michigan, [1] on March 28, [1] 1970, [2] as Lowell Curtis Pye, after the birth of his son, he goes by Lowell Curtis Pye, Sr. [3] He was reared in the church in his hometown at First Fellowship, and at the age of four was a part of the group called "The Junior Echo's". [1] In 1990, he joined the ministry of John P. Kee, and that lead to his membership in Men of Standard with Isaac Carree. [1]

Music career

His music career got started in 1996, with the gospel music group Men of Standard; however, his solo career commenced in 2010, with the release of Finally by Miralex Entertainment in 2010. [4] This album was his breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine charts, placing on the Gospel Albums at No. 10. [5] His subsequent album released by Entertainment One Music in 2014, Transformed, [4] charted on the Gospel Albums chart at No. 22. [5]

Bishop Jason Albert Nelson is an American urban contemporary gospel artist and musician. He started his music career, in 2005, with the release of, I Shall Live, by Jaelyn Son Records. His second album, Place of Worship, was released in 2008. The first album with a major label, Shifting the Atmosphere, with Verity Records, was released in 2012, and this charted on two Billboard charts The Billboard 200 and the Top Gospel Albums. His second album with a major label, Jesus Revealed, with RCA Inspiration, was released in 2015, which this charted on the two aforementioned charts.

William David McDowell is an American gospel musician. He started his music career, in 2009, with the release of, As We Worship, by Entertainment One Music. This album would chart on three Billboard charts Gospel Albums, Independent Albums and Heatseekers Albums. His second album, Arise, was released in 2011 with Entertainment One. The album charted three Billboard charts again, this time The Billboard 200, Gospel Albums and Independent Albums. His third album, Withholding Nothing, was released in 2013, with Entertainment One. This album would chart on three charts The Billboard 200, Gospel Albums, and Independent Albums. He was nominated for Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album, for his third album.

She got a Grammy Award nomination for Renewed at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards in the Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album category. Hurd & Corporate Worship, Vol. 1, that was released by Hurd the Word Music. His second album, In the Overflow, Vol. 2, was released by Integrity Music in 2001. The third release, A Call to Worship, was released by Integrity Records alongside Epic Records and Sony Urban in 2004. This would be his first album to breakthrough on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart. He released his fourth album, My Destiny, with Integrity Music alongside Columbia Records in 2006, and this charted on the aforementioned chart. The fifth album, Times of Refreshing, released in 2008 with Integrity Music, again this charted on the aforementioned chart. Hall has released six more albums with various labels that have charted on the Gospel Albums chart, and these were with Worship & Praise, which is the name of his choir he founded. He released an album with Voices of Citadel in 2010, Won't It Be Wonderful, that charted on the Gospel Albums chart.

Harvey Lee Watkins Jr. is an American gospel musician and currently the lead singer of The Canton Spirituals, which his father Harvey Watkins Sr. founded. He started his solo music career, in 1990, with the release of, He's There All the Time, that was released by J&B Records. His second album, It's in My Heart – Live in Raymond, MS, released by Verity Records in 2003, and this placed on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart. The third album, Keep Knocking, was released in 2013 by Malaco Records, but this did not place on any charts.

Todd Anthony Dulaney is an American gospel musician, and former baseball player. His music career started in 2011, with the release of the CD version, Pulling Me Through. This would be his breakthrough released upon the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. He would release another album, A Worshipper's Heart, in 2016 with EntertainmentOne Nashville, and this would place even higher on the Gospel Albums chart.

Timothy Bowman Sr. is an American smooth jazz gospel musician. He started his music career, in 1996, with the release of, Love, Joy, Peace, by INSP Media Group alongside Diamante Records, and they released his first three albums, 1998's Paradise and 2000's Smile. The subsequent album, This Is What I Hear, was released by Liquid 8 Records in 2004. His fifth album, Tim Bowman, released in 2008 by Trippin 'N' Rhythm Records. This album was his breakthrough release upon the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Albums chart.

John Lawrence Givens, known professionally as John Givez and sometimes Juan Dando, is an American musician, who plays hip hop, R&B, soul, funk and neo soul music. She won a Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album at the 57th edition of the event. Since May 2016, she has been the host of Get Up! Mornings with Erica Campbell with comedian Griff, currently distributed by Reach Media, the syndication arm of Urban One.

Trecina Evette "Tina" Campbell is an American urban contemporary gospel, Christian R&B and contemporary R&B recording artist and musician. She started her music career in 1998 with her older sister, Erica Campbell, as part of the gospel music group, Mary Mary. Her solo music career began in 2014, and has since released one studio album with Gee Tree Creative, where it charted on the Billboard magazine chart. She released her second studio album, It's Still Personal on September 29, 2017.

David Calvert Daughtry is an American gospel musician, actor, and worship leader at West Angeles Church of God in Christ, while he is an urban contemporary gospel and a traditional black gospel recording artist and singer. He started his solo music career, in 2014, with the studio album, David Daughtry, that was released by Entertainment One Music and Karew Records. The album charted on two Billboard magazine charts.
