Biography
Luizianne holds a journalism degree from the Federal University of Ceará. She was a prominent activist in the student movement,serving as the president of the university student union and as a director of National Union of Students. After graduating,she became a professor at the same university and is currently on authorized leave to serve in Congress.
In 1996,she was elected to Fortaleza's city council and was reelected in 2000. During her time on the City Council,she chaired the Education,Culture,and Sports Commission and also presided over the Women,Youth,and Children Commission,which was established following a bill proposed by Lins.
In 2002,she was elected to the State Congress. She resigned in late 2003 after being elected as the mayor of Fortaleza.
In 2004,she ran for the position of Fortaleza's mayor. During the first round of the elections,the national leadership of her party supported the PCdoB candidate,Inácio Arruda,due to PT's national strategy and alliances. Nevertheless,she advanced to the second round of elections. In the second round,she received full support from the Workers' Party and several other historically leftist parties,including PSB. She then defeated Moroni Torgan from the Liberal Front Party and was elected as the mayor of Fortaleza.
Luizianne was re-elected as mayor in 2008,completing her second term as mayor of Fortaleza in December 2012. Brazilian law does not allow politicians in executive branch to serve more than two consecutive terms.
Luizianne Lins was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 2014 with 130,717 votes (2.99% of the total votes). She was re-elected in 2018 and 2022 with 173,777 and 182,232 votes,respectively.
Lins unsuccessfully attempted to regain the position of Mayor of Fortaleza in 2016 and 2020,finishing in third place in both elections.
The Workers' Party is a centre-left to left-wing political party in Brazil that is currently the country's ruling party. Some scholars classify its ideology in the 21st century as social democracy, with the party shifting from a broadly socialist ideology in the 1990s. Founded in 1980, PT governed at the federal level in a coalition government with several other parties from 1 January 2003 to 31 August 2016. After the 2002 parliamentary election, PT became the largest party in the Chamber of Deputies and the largest in the Federal Senate for the first time. With the highest approval rating in the history of the country, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is PT's most prominent member. Dilma Rousseff, also a member of PT, was elected twice but did not finish her second term due to her impeachment in 2016. The party came back to power with Lula's victory in the 2022 presidential election.

With the exception of her three-year tenure as Human Rights Secretary, she has been a congresswoman since 2003, representing the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul as a member of the Worker's Party (Brazil).
Luciana Krebs Genro is a Brazilian politician, state deputy and one of the founders of the Socialism and Freedom Party (PSOL). In 2014, she was the PSOL nominee for President of Brazil. She came in 4th place, receiving more than 1.6 million votes nationally. She is the daughter of Tarso Genro, an important Workers' Party (PT) politician.

A member of the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB), of which she was the leader in the Senate from 2018 to 2019, Tebet was the MDB candidate for president in the 2022 Brazilian general election, placing third with 4.16% of the vote. After endorsing Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, in the second round, Tebet was appointed Minister of Planning.
