Luke Andrew Doran (born 14 August 1991 in Baulkham Hills, Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian cricketer who plays for the Sydney Sixers and the New South Wales Blues. He was a member of Australia's 2010 Under-19 Cricket World Cup squad which won the 2010 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. [1] [2] [3] He has played in three List A matches for New South Wales, and 15 Big Bash games for the Sydney Sixers. [4] Doran did not play in the 2015–16 Big Bash League season due to a side strain, although he was in the Sixers semi-final squad. [5] [6]

Doran previously represented the Fairfield-Liverpool Lions, [7] and now also represents Lindisfarne in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League; in the 2015 final, Doran was dismissed for 87 and infamously threw his bat at the match official. [8]

He is the older brother of cricketer Jake Doran and Micheal Doran who attends and is currently at Luke/s old school The Hills Sports High School. [9]

Sydney Sixers Mens cricket team

The Sydney Sixers are an Australian professional franchise men's cricket team, competing in Australia's domestic Twenty20 cricket competition, the Big Bash League (BBL). Along with the Sydney Thunder, the Sixers are the successors of the New South Wales Blues who played in the now-defunct KFC Twenty20 Big Bash. The Sixers play at Sydney Cricket Ground in the south-eastern area of the inner city while the Thunder play out of Spotless Stadium further west. The inaugural coach was Trevor Bayliss, who was replaced in 2015 by current coach Greg Shipperd. The Sixers' inaugural captain was Australian wicket-keeper Brad Haddin. Both Steve Smith and Moises Henriques have also spent time captaining the team.

Sean Abbott Australian cricketer

Sean Anthony Abbott is an Australian professional cricketer originally from Windsor in New South Wales who has represented his country internationally. After playing in junior cricket for Baulkham Hills Cricket Club, he progressed to play grade cricket for Parramatta District. Kurtis Adam Patterson is an Australian cricketer, currently playing for the New South Wales cricket team in the Sheffield Shield, and the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League. Patterson scored a century on his first-class cricket debut for New South Wales in November 2011, becoming the youngest batsman to score a century in Sheffield Shield cricket. Jake Richard Doran is an Australian cricketer who plays for Tasmania, Hobart Hurricanes and Australia under-19s. He previously played for New South Wales, and is also the youngest player to be signed to a Big Bash League contract. Doran is the younger brother of cricketer Luke Doran and attended The Hills Sports High School.

The 2015–16 Matador BBQs One-Day Cup was the 46th season of the official List A domestic cricket competition in Australia. It was played over a four-week period at the start of the domestic season to separate its schedule before the Sheffield Shield. The tournament was held in Sydney, with most matches broadcast live on free-to-air television on GEM. In the final, New South Wales, who won every round robin game except for one against Victoria, was successful over South Australia, who qualified for the final through a victory in an elimination final against Victoria.

The season began after the conclusion of the Matador BBQs One-Day Cup, and included a break halfway through to allow for the Big Bash League. Trials for day/night Tests with a pink ball continued, having been introduced during the previous season. All of the matches for rounds one and seven of the tournament were played as day/night games. Victoria won their second consecutive title, defeating South Australia by 7 wickets in the final at Gliderol Stadium. Travis Head was named player of the series for his 721 runs and 9 wickets during the season. Jake Scott Lehmann is an Australian cricketer who plays for South Australia. He is the eldest son of former Australian coach Darren Lehmann. Well known for his moustache, Lehmann began his first-class career in the 2014–15 season and enjoyed early success, scoring a double century in his second season. He began playing for the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League in 2015 and hit a match-winning six against the Hobart Hurricanes in the first ball of his career and the last ball of the innings.

2017–18 Sheffield Shield season Cricket tournament

The 2017–18 Sheffield Shield season was the 116th season of the Sheffield Shield, the domestic first-class cricket competition in Australia. It started on 26 October 2017 and finished on 27 March 2018. The opening round of matches were played as day/night fixtures and the first three rounds of matches took place before the Ashes series. Victoria were the defending champions.

Michael William "Mickey" Edwards is an Australian cricketer. He represents New South Wales in the JLT Cup and Sheffield Shield competitions. When not representing the Blues, he represents Manly Warringah District Cricket Club in Sydney Grade Cricket. He attended St Augustine's College. In December 2017 his younger brother Jack Edwards was named in Australia’s squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

The 2019–20 Sheffield Shield season was the 118th season of the Sheffield Shield, the domestic first-class cricket competition in Australia. It began on 10 October 2019 and was scheduled to finish on 31 March 2020. The first four rounds took place prior to the international Test series against Pakistan, and in addition the season breaks for the Big Bash League. Victoria were the defending champions.
