Luke Andrew Doran (born 14 August 1991 in Baulkham Hills,Sydney,New South Wales) is an Australian cricketer who plays for the Sydney Sixers and the New South Wales Blues. He was a member of Australia's 2010 Under-19 Cricket World Cup squad which won the 2010 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. [1] [2] [3] He has played in three List A matches for New South Wales,and 15 Big Bash games for the Sydney Sixers. [4] Doran did not play in the 2015–16 Big Bash League season due to a side strain,although he was in the Sixers semi-final squad. [5] [6]
Doran previously represented the Fairfield-Liverpool Lions, [7] and now also represents Lindisfarne in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League;in the 2015 final,Doran was dismissed for 87 and infamously threw his bat at the match official. [8]
He is the older brother of cricketer Jake Doran and Micheal Doran who attends and is currently at Luke/s old school The Hills Sports High School. [9]

The Sydney Sixers is an Australian professional franchise men's cricket team,competing in Australia's domestic Twenty20 cricket competition,the Big Bash League (BBL). Along with the Sydney Thunder,the Sixers are the successors of the New South Wales Blues who played in the now-defunct KFC Twenty20 Big Bash. The Sixers play at Sydney Cricket Ground at Moore Park in Sydney's eastern suburbs,whilst the Thunder play at the Sydney Showground Stadium in the city's western suburbs. The inaugural coach was Trevor Bayliss,who was replaced in 2015 by current coach Greg Shipperd. The Sixers' inaugural captain was Australian wicket-keeper Brad Haddin. Kurtis Robert Patterson is an Australian cricketer who plays for the New South Wales cricket team in the Sheffield Shield,and the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League. Patterson scored a century on his first-class cricket debut for New South Wales in November 2011,becoming the youngest batsman to score a century in Sheffield Shield cricket. In January 2019,he made his Test debut for Australia against Sri Lanka,becoming the 457th person to play test cricket for Australia. He made a century in just his second test match in Canberra,also against Sri Lanka. He was not selected for the 2019 Ashes series and returned to play domestically in the 2019/2020 season. He has the highest average of any Test batsman who has lost their wicket at least once.

The 2015–16 Sheffield Shield season was the 114th season of the Sheffield Shield,the Australian domestic first-class cricket competition. The season began after the conclusion of the Matador BBQs One-Day Cup,and included a break halfway through to allow for the Big Bash League. Trials for day/night Tests with a pink ball continued,having been introduced during the previous season. All of the matches for rounds one and seven of the tournament were played as day/night games. Victoria won their second consecutive title,defeating South Australia by 7 wickets in the final at Gliderol Stadium. Travis Head was named player of the series for his 721 runs and 9 wickets during the season. Ben Dunk of Tasmania was the leading run-scorer,while Joe Mennie from South Australia took the most wickets.
