Luke David Sutton (born 4 October 1976) is an English former cricketer. [1] A former right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper,he won the NBC Denis Compton Award in 2000,2001 and 2002,and has also played List A and Twenty20 cricket.
Sutton attended Millfield School and then Durham University,where he was in the same year as Andrew Strauss. [2]
Sutton joined Somerset as a junior,playing for the club in 1997 and 1998,and the second II in 1999.
In 2000 he moved to Derbyshire,later given the task of captain after Dominic Cork moved to Lancashire and Michael Di Venuto moved back to Australia due to an injured back. Sutton kept wicket for the Derbyshire side and provided solid middle-order batsmanship.
He signed for Lancashire in 2006 as a replacement for Warren Hegg. On 9 August 2006,Sutton recorded his first century for Lancashire in the Roses match against Yorkshire,accumulating an unbeaten 151. This is a record as the highest scoring wicket keeper in a Roses match.
Lancashire awarded Sutton his county cap in April 2007. [3]
Towards the end of the 2010 season,it was announced that Sutton would be leaving Lancashire and was looking to join other clubs. [4] Shortly after,Sutton signed a contract with Derbyshire. [5] Three months after Sutton's return to Derbyshire was announced,he was appointed captain,taking over from Australian Chris Rogers who left the club. [6] In May 2011,a month into the season,Derbyshire's head of cricket,John Morris,left the club. Sutton was left with a more prominent role in managing the team till the end of the season. [7] [8] In an effort to improve on their last-place finish in the 2010 County Championship,Derbyshire introduced several new players. The team finished fifth in the Second Division in 2011 and third in their CB40 group. Sutton's successful leadership of an inexperienced side was generally praised. [9]
In early December 2011,Sutton retired from all forms of cricket,in part because of his admitted battle with depression. [10]

In 1995,he took the best figures for an England bowler on Test debut,with 7 for 43 in the second innings against the West Indies.

Rikki Clarke is a retired English cricketer,who last played for Surrey. He was educated at Broadwater School and then Godalming College. Clarke began his career as a professional cricketer with Surrey in 2000,making his list A debut in 2001 and First Class debut in 2002,and the following year made his One Day International debut for England;later in 2003 he played his first Test match. Between 2003 and 2006 he played two Tests,both against Bangladesh and 20 ODIs.

He is an all-rounder,and represented the national team in a One Day International,as well as performing well for Lancashire over many years. He bowled right-arm fast-medium,and is a right-handed batsman. With six first-class centuries to his name,Chapple shares with Mark Pettini the record for fastest first-class century,scored against declaration bowling by Glamorgan in 1993,coming off just 27 balls.
Stephen Colin Moore is a retired English cricketer. Moore is a right-handed opening batsman who played first-class cricket most recently for Derbyshire County Cricket Club in 2014. He previously played for Worcestershire from 2003 until 2009 and Lancashire County Cricket Club from 2009 until 2013. Educated at St Stithians College in Johannesburg and at Exeter University,from which he graduated MEng,Moore is also a keen saxophonist.

Thomas Christopher Smith is a former English cricketer who played for Lancashire County Cricket Club. He had also been a member of the England Academy team. In 2008,he played for Leicestershire on loan because he was unable to break into Lancashire's first team. He is an all-rounder,bowling right-arm medium and batting left-handed. At the start of the 2009 season,Smith was promoted to open the batting,having previously batted in the lower order,and secured his place there. In 2011,the year Lancashire won the County Championship for the first time since 1950,Smith became the first Lancashire player to score a century and take four wickets in the same one-day match. In 2011/12 Smith played for the Matabeleland Tuskers in Zimbabwe as an overseas player in the domestic twenty20 competition.
Stephen David Parry is an English cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a slow left-arm bowler who played for Lancashire County Cricket Club. Parry made his senior debut for Lancashire in 2007 and in 2009 was named Lancashire's Young Player of the Year.
Gareth David Cross is an English cricketer who plays as a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper who occasionally bowls right arm medium-fast. He played for Lancashire from 2005 until his release in 2013,and the following year signed for Derbyshire. In 2015 he returned to Clifton as professional having earlier come through their junior ranks.

Simon Christopher Kerrigan is a retired English cricketer who last played for Northamptonshire. He bowled slow left arm orthodox spin. Kerrigan signed for Lancashire in September 2008,and made his debut for the first team in 2010,filling in for Gary Keedy,Lancashire's senior spinner. In August 2011,Kerrigan was selected for the England Lions for the first time. The following month he took the best first-class bowling figures for Lancashire since 1953 and that year Lancashire won the County Championship for the first time since 1950.

The 2020 Bob Willis Trophy was a first-class cricket tournament held in the 2020 English cricket season,and the inaugural edition of the Bob Willis Trophy. It was separate from the County Championship,which was not held in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. The eighteen county cricket teams were split into three regional groups of six,with the two group winners with the most points advancing to a final held at Lord's. The maximum number of overs bowled in a day was reduced from 96 to 90,and the team's first innings could be no longer than 120 overs.
The 2020 Vitality Blast was the 2020 season of the t20 Blast,a professional Twenty20 cricket league being played in England and Wales. It was the third season in which the domestic T20 competition,run by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB),which was branded as the Vitality Blast due to the tournament's sponsorship deal.
