Dominic Gerald Cork is a former English county and international cricketer. Cork was a right-handed lower-order batsman who bowled right-arm fast-medium,and was renowned for his swing and seam control. In 1995,he took the best figures for an England bowler on Test debut,with 7 for 43 in the second innings against the West Indies.
Timothy Alan Munton is an English cricketer. He had a long career in county cricket,playing over 500 games combined between first-class and List A,primarily with Warwickshire before ending his career at Derbyshire. He also played two Test matches for England in the 1992 series against Pakistan,and went on a number of England A tours. A medium pace bowler and lower order batsman,cricket writer Colin Bateman stated,"at 6ft 6in,with an ability to make the ball swing,Munton is at his best in English conditions". His time at Warwickshire was a particularly successful one for the club,winning 6 trophies between 1993 and 1995;as a crucial part of that side,Munton was honoured as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1995.
Roy Kilner was an English professional cricketer who played nine Test matches for England between 1924 and 1926. An all-rounder,he played for Yorkshire County Cricket Club between 1911 and 1927. In all first-class matches,he scored 14,707 runs at an average of 30.01 and took 1,003 wickets at an average of 18.45. Kilner scored 1,000 runs in a season ten times and took 100 wickets in a season five times. On four occasions,he completed the double:scoring 1,000 runs and taking 100 wickets in the same season,recognised as a sign of a quality all-rounder.
Hashim Mohammad Amla OIS is a former South African cricketer who captained the national side in Tests and ODIs. Amla holds the record for being the fastest ever to score 3,000,4,000,6,000 and 7,000 ODI runs,and second fastest to reach 5,000 runs. He also became the fastest cricketer to reach 10 ODI centuries. Amla is an occasional off break bowler. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen to have played for South Africa,and one of the greatest opening batsmen of all time.

Arthur Frederick Augustus Lilley,variously known as Dick Lilley or A. A. Lilley,was an English professional cricketer who played for Warwickshire County Cricket Club from 1888 to 1911,and in 35 Test matches for England from 1896 to 1909. He was born in Holloway Head,Birmingham,and died in Brislington,Bristol.
James Charles Hildreth is a former English professional cricketer who played for Somerset County Cricket Club. He attended Millfield School,Somerset. He is a right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm medium pace bowler. Hildreth represented England at all youth levels including the 2003–04 Under-19 World cup held in Bangladesh. He made his first-class debut in 2003 and became a regular member of the side from the start of the 2004 season. The James Hildreth Stand was opened by him at Somerset County Cricket Ground on 21 September 2022.
Marcus James North is a former Australian first-class cricketer who played 21 Test matches and two One Day Internationals (ODIs) for the Australian national side.
When the First World War ended in November 1918,thousands of Australian servicemen were in Europe as members of the First Australian Imperial Force (AIF) and many remained until the spring of 1919. In England,a new first-class cricket season was planned,the first since 1914,and an idea that came to fruition was the formation of an Australian touring side made up of servicemen. Agreement was reached with the Australian Corps HQ in London,commanded by Field Marshal William Birdwood,1st Baron Birdwood,and the Australian Imperial Force Touring XI was formed,initially under the captaincy of pre-war Test player Charlie Kelleway. Kelleway departed after only six matches following a dispute about the fixtures list. A players' meeting elected future Test player Herbie Collins as team captain for the remainder of the tour,despite the fact that Collins' military rank was lance corporal and there were seven officers in the party. The bulk of the team remained intact for nearly nine months from May 1919,playing 33 matches in Great Britain,ten in South Africa on their way home and then another three in Australia itself before disbanding in February 1920. Of the 46 matches,39 are adjudged first-class and the team had only four defeats,all of these in England. The players lived on their army pay and all profits from gate money went to an AIF Sports Control Board.
Christopher Gladwin is a retired English first-class cricketer who played for Essex County Cricket Club from 1981 to 1987,and for Derbyshire County Cricket Club in 1989. He also played for Suffolk County Cricket Club in List A matches from 1988 to 1990. He was born at East Ham,Essex.
Paul Geoffrey Newman is an English former cricketer who played for Derbyshire County Cricket Club between 1980 and 1989.

He also played Minor Counties cricket for Cumberland and Cornwall. An adaptable cricketer,he appeared for Cumberland and Warwickshire as a wicket-keeper,but when he moved to Somerset he developed into an aggressive batsman who bowled at medium-pace when needed.
Charles Augustus Ollivierre was a Vincentian cricketer who represented the West Indies in matches before they attained Test match status. Born in St Vincent,Ollivierre initially played first-class cricket for Trinidad;he was selected to tour England with the West Indies team in 1900. He later qualified to play first-class cricket for Derbyshire between 1901 and 1907,becoming the first black West Indian to play for an English county. Ollivierre was reasonably successful in county cricket and had a reputation as a stylish batsman. However,he dropped out of first-class cricket after 1907 owing to eye trouble.
Frank Henry Vigar was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Essex County Cricket Club between 1938 and 1954. A right-handed batsman,and leg break bowler,Vigar served as an all-rounder with 8,858 runs at 26.28 and 241 wickets at 37.90. From his rained-off debut in 1938,Vigar went on to play 257 matches for his county. His greatest success came in the "golden summer" of 1947,where he scored 1,735 runs and took 64 wickets. A partnership with Peter Smith of 218 for the final wicket remains an Essex record.
Derbyshire County Cricket Club in 1922 represents the cricket season when the English club Derbyshire had been playing for fifty-one years. It was their twenty-fourth season in the County Championship and they won six matches to finish eleventh.

It was their sixty-first season in the County Championship and they won seven championship matches and lost nine to finish ninth in the County Championship. It was the third season in which the Gillette Cup was played,and Derbyshire reached the second round.
