Luwero Triangle

The Luweero Triangle, sometimes spelled Luwero Triangle, is an area of Uganda north of the capital Kampala, where, in 1981, Yoweri Museveni started the guerrilla war that propelled him and his National Resistance Movement into power in 1986.

The area was notorious for the persecution of civilians during the Luweero War, between the rebel National Resistance Army and the government of Milton Obote. Many residents were either forcibly recruited or killed by both sides during the five-year Ugandan Bush War, as Museveni's guerrilla forces started their advance from Kyankwanzi southeast toward Kampala. He is the executive director Uganda Communications Commission a position he assumed on 24 November 2023 and a former State Minister for Information Technology in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 27 May 2011. He replaced Alintuma Nsambu, who was dropped from the Cabinet. Prior to that, he served as the State Minister for Luweero Triangle in the Office of the Prime Minister, from 2009 until 2011. Nyombi Thembo is also a former Member of Parliament (MP), for "Kassanda County South", Mubende District. He has continuously represented the constituency since 2001.

Mubende Regional Referral Hospital, commonly known as Mubende Hospital is a hospital in the town of Mubende, in the Central Region of Uganda. It is the referral hospital for the districts of Mubende, Mityana, Kiboga, and Kyankwanzi.
