Lwemiyaga County is a county in the Central Region of Uganda.^[2]

The Central region is one of four regions in the country of Uganda. As of Uganda's 2014 census, the region's population was 9,529,227. It is coterminous with the Kingdom of Buganda, one of the ancient African monarchies that are constitutionally recognised in Uganda.

Uganda, officially the Republic of Uganda, is a landlocked country in East-Central Africa. It is bordered to the east by Kenya, to the north by South Sudan, to the west by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to the south-west by Rwanda, and to the south by Tanzania. The southern part of the country includes a substantial portion of Lake Victoria, shared with Kenya and Tanzania. Uganda is in the African Great Lakes region. Uganda also lies within the Nile basin, and has a varied but generally a modified equatorial climate.

Location

Lwemiyaga County is north-west of Mawogola County, and together they form Sembabule District.^[3] The county consists of two sub-counties: (a) Lwemiyaga sub-county^[4] and (b) Ntuusi sub-county.^[5] Urban centers in the county include Lwemiyaga and Ntuusi, located about 21 kilometres (13 mi) apart.^[6]

Mawogola County is a county in the Central Region of Uganda.

Sembabule District is a district in the Central Region of Uganda. The town of Sembabule is the site of the district headquarters. Other urban centers in the district include Lwemiyaga and Ntuusi.

Lwemiyaga is a settlement in the Central Region of Uganda. The town is the site of the county headquarters.

Overview

Lwemiyaga County is in the dry cattle corridor of Uganda. Drought is one of the challenges that the county faces, along with bad roads and electricity shortages. Major economic activity is farming of both crops and animals.^[7]

Maddu is a town in Gomba District in the Central Region of Uganda.

Kabulasoke is a town in Gomba District in the Central Region of Uganda.

Kimwanyi is a neighborhood in Kira Municipality, Wakiso District, in the Buganda Region of Uganda. Kimwanyi also refers to Kimwanyi Parish, in Kira sub-county, Kyaddondo County, Wakiso District. It is one of the six parishes (wards) of Kira Municicipality, namely; Kimwanyi, Kira, Kyaliwajjala, Kireka, Bweyogerere and Kirinnya.

Bukeerere, sometimes wrongly spelled as Bukerere, is a township in the Central Region of Uganda. The correct phonetic spelling is with two 'e's after the 'k'.

Mateete is a town in the Central Region of Uganda.

Ntuusi is a settlement in the Central Region of Uganda.

Kyotera District is a district in the Central Region of Uganda. Kyotera is the largest town in the district but the district headquarters are located at Kasaali, a suburb of Kyotera.

Kijabijo is a neighborhood in Kira Town, in Wakiso District in the Buganda Region of Uganda.

Lwensinga is a town in the Buganda Region of Uganda.
