Lydian Nadhaswaram (born 5 September 2005) is an Indian Tamil musician from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. [1] [2] In 2019, he appeared on The World's Best on CBS and won, earning prize money of $1 million. [3] [4] [5]
Nadhaswaram was born to Varshan Satish, a Tamil music director, and Jhansi as their second child. At the age of two, he started performing on the drums, and at eight he taught himself to play the piano. [2] He is a student of Augustine Paul, the music director of the century-old Madras Musical Association Choir. [6] [7]
Nadhaswaram spent four years studying at KM Music Conservatory, a higher education institution founded in 2008 by the AR Rahman Foundation. In a YouTube video, Nadhaswaram was at home playing a Vande Matram song by A.R. Rahman on the piano in front of the composer. [8]
In September 2019, it was announced that Nadhaswaram would make his debut as a film composer with the Malayalam-language fantasy film Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure , directed by Mohanlal, starring himself in the lead. [9] He played the role of Guddu in the film Atkan Chatkan . [10]
Nadhaswaram was awarded the Lokmat Sur Jytosna National Music Award in 2021, which was given away by the information and broadcast Minister Anurag Thakur. [11] [12]

Manayangath Subramanian Viswanathan, also known as M.S.V., was an Indian music director, singer and actor who predominantly worked in Tamil film industry. Atkan Chatkan is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language musical drama film written and directed by Shiv Hare on his directorial debut. It is produced by Vishakha Singh under Lokaa Entertainment and presented by music composer A. R. Rahman. The film story revolves around Guddu, a chai delivery boy who eventually teams up with three friends and forms a musical band to take part in a musical competition despite the poor background. The film stars newcomer Lydian Nadhaswaram along with Amitriyaan, Yash Rane, Sachin Chaudhary, Tamanna Dipak and Ayesha Vindhara in the lead roles. The film was premiered via ZEE5 on 5 September 2020 and generally opened to positive reviews from critics.
Sur Jyotsna National Music Awards is one of the most prestigious awards of the country annual awards that honour Indian artistes and acknowledge talent and skill emerging musical artists in India. The award was instituted in memory of Jyotsna Darda by Lokmat media. The event is usually held in Nagpur but lately, it has been organized in other cities such as Mumbai and Delhi. In 2023, the award also created a category 'Sur Jyotsna National Music Legends'.
Barroz is the soundtrack album to the 2024 Malayalam-language epic children's fantasy film of the same name directed by Mohanlal in his directorial debut, who also starred in the titular character. The film's soundtrack consisted of five original songs in both Malayalam and Portuguese languages. Lydian Nadhaswaram composed three songs with the lyrics written by Vinayak Sasikumar, Lakshmi Sreekumar and Krishnadas Panki, with Fernando Boto de Jesus Guerreiro and Miguel Jorge Guerreiro composed music and lyrics for the fado songs. The soundtrack was released under the Sony Music India label on 20 December 2024.
